Haha - yes we are! Sorry for the late reply but I have been following your progress. You are ahead at the moment by a little bit! I went to the ring last month but the weather / dry window was not enough for full send. Now hopefully spring next year. I feel 7:33-7:35 is certainly possible. Not sure about 7:30 but maybe on a perfect lap. Tough to get a perfect lap on such a long circuit in between traffic and driving errors - however best of luck! Maybe we need to go to same event and tow each other around! haha

@@LaSource911 again, same for me. I was in full PB mode at the last trackday but the weather said no. Was fun anyway 🤗 I booked the trackday at the 11th of November because I‘m there for another reason that weekend and thought…why not 😅 Don’t expect the weather to be good by any chance, but maybe…just maybe 🤣 I like that towing idea, especially uphill we could need some slipstream, haha. Book a Schnelle Schwaben event next year, I’ll be there pretty sure. 🤙

Haha. Joining the circuit I did wonder where it would interrupt the lap. However to be fair to the driver, they were very nice about letting me pass without too much bother

Great driving. I really miss my Speed yellow 996.1 GT3 CS which had a Manthey K400 upgrade and Cup steering wheel. I actually prefer the 996 GT3/GT3RS to the 997. My dream 911 is 996 GT3 with the 997RS 4.0 litre engine and some aftermarket dampers.

Yep there is something intoxicating about the 996s. I’ve had 997.2 3.8 RS and 4.0 RS too. But the 996 is the purer more rewarding drive. They are all great of course, but the 996 just puts you in the middle of this ballet of weight balance :)

Great Video! I love your telemetry-it gives a way better feeling of the speed and also allows for comparisons.

Thanks. Yes I now cannot watch a track video without telemetry 😀 Without it you don’t know what you are looking it - is it fast or slow? Where is it different? How much is the car being pushed? Etc. As you say, being able to compare then to what you do helps with any learning points either about the car or your own driving.

Thanks. Yep I was up 1-2 seconds on subsequent laps but we had live recovery so yellow flags ok circuit. Infact I was also quicker with a 100kg passenger! I think real Pace about about 7:35-7:37

Congratulations, an excellent round. May I ask what technology you use for video recordings and telemetry data etc? I'm currently building my racing car :) greetings

Thanks - I use a collection of devices, too many for any sane person! Racelogic VBox and GoPros mainly. I also have a Garmin Catalyst running but tend not to use it too much at the moment. Oh - and a Racelogic Performance box for backup!

Thanks. Yes, there are some videos on the channel. The e46 also comes alive at the ring. Great balance to the chassis. I felt it had the same cornering speeds as the 996 and wasn’t much further behind on pace.

Yes, no problem. The key mods are: - Uprated brakes (Uber9s discs, Pagid RSL29 pads) - Motorsport/cup diff plates - Cup final drive (8/32) - Nitron 3-way suspension - Single mass flywheel - Engine/exhaust is standard oem - Michelin Cup2 Connect tyres
