As a former RN, I find this extremely disturbing. Yes, it makes me more furious, than words can express. I took a class in ethics, in nursing school. What I learned in that class has influenced how I've cared for others. I don't think an ethics class can change a psychopath or narcissist though. Rest in Jesus dearest Peggy. 🕊️

Linda Laroche age 66 was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole in May 2022. I am so thankful that she was caught and convicted. I bet she kicks herself for probably having a few too many in that bar and spilling the beans on herself. Otherwise, she could have gotten away with this completely. Too late--but better late than never. You show so much respect for Peggy (also my cat's name) !!❤

Ron, I was reading that Linda was born in 1955, so she is 67. If she is sentenced to Illinois sentenced for 1st degree, minimally its 20 to life. I had to call authorities to a house 20 years ago when I worked for Hospice. I was delivering oxygen to a house, rang the doorbell to no answer. As I started to walk away I heard a bang on a window and a faint voice asking for help. Turns out the daughter of this elderly man locked him in his bedroom, chained to the bed so her and her boyfriend could go to the bar and they were so lucky the authorities showed up before they came home or else I’d be the one going away in handcuffs... It was a whole big thing that was on the news!

I care for my mother who has dementia and even though it can be really tough at times when she is combative, I could never imagine doing anything like that to her just to go partying. She cared for me & I will care for her. I just hope that I don't run into one of those people when I have aged & need help. I have no children, but to think that even your own children can do this worries me, but honestly I wouldn't put it past some of my own siblings, which is why I felt it my duty to step up. Smh.

Working as a support worker here in Scotland with adults with various disabilities I was absolutely sickened by what this person had done to Peggy and the fact that she was bragging about it too made it even harder. Unfortunately that was her undoing, bragging about her crimes. Anyway I hope she will receive her due sentence and she will never see daylight again. To Peggy I pray she is now at peace. Hearing this horror story has hit a nerve with me. I am the mother of a severely autistic nonverbal son who is 21. I am 68 and his sole caregiver. We have no family. I always worry what will become of him after I am gone. True life horror stories like this bring it home that there are monstrous people out there looking to prey on the most vulnerable. It said she was mildly cognitively impaired. One in ten people have an IQ of 85 or less. That means many people you know are mildly cognitively impaired but you don’t even realize it. The problem was she was left without any family support. If she had graduated and gotten a job before her mom died she likely would have lived normal life on her own. She was just coerced by this evil woman because she was all alone in the world and unprepared to deal with life. Very sad.

Not placing blame on anyone but the murderer but where was her family? I know people now who are in their 60’s, who are well off, and could retire but don’t because they have a special needs children that they are trying their hardest to provide for when they are gone. They don’t want to put it on the siblings or other family members but want to ensure a safe, loving environment for their adult children after they die. I was an RN for 35 years, and unfortunately there were nurses I met along the way who caused me to wonder what on earth they were doing in the profession. There is something satisfying knowing that the killer, happily smiling before her dinner in that one picture, will soon be able to smile in front of her plate of prison food. A nice ladies outfit, traded for prison pin stripes or all orange. A Florida home in sunshine, replaced by a concrete cell with hardened steel bars on a cold Wisconsin winter morning of gray. And it's there that she knows she will most definitely serve her final years in that cell until she is carried out in a body bag. This episode was especially hard for me to watch, not only for it's horrific sadness, but, because I'm the father of a very disabled 10 year old boy. I'm 52...and my worst fear on this earth is the welfare of my little boy after I'm gone. Because of this...I've maintained my high level of fitness and healthy living, so I can be here (there) for my boy as long as I can. For as long as I have a breath in my lungs and a beat in my heart...my boy will be safe from the demons that surround us all...everywhere ! After reading several news reports, it appears LaRoche was married at the time and her husband came home and saw Peggy's body on the floor. He said he took the children and left while LaRoche got rid of the body. Incredible that there was another adult in the home that not only knew about the abuse, but witnessed her death and did absolutely nothing. This story really got to me also. There are at least 4 things that I can identify with. 1. My grandmother lived outside of McHenry for over 40 yrs. until the 1990's. 2. We lived in Wis. just off of the Kenosha/Racine county line road. 3. We have friends whose last name is Schroeder who still live in Wis. in Racine country. 4. March 4th was my grandmother's birthday. This story gave me the creeps - I never heard of it before.

I am a RN and this story is horrendous how does a human being do something so horrific to another human?? A nurse at that!!! A person who takes a vow to protect and advocate for others!?!?!? It sickens me to my core. She is evil incarnate 😡 Bless Peggy’s soul…May she Rest in His Sweet Peace ✝️

This video was upsetting that a nurse could do something like that to a patient and treat her like that. I hope she gets the max sentence for commuting this crime.
