My deceased identical twin sister was consistently abused, mocked, bullied, and ridiculed by so many hospital nurses during her life. She had chronic illness and very poor mental health. @@Rocket9944 No after two and a half years got a transplant ( thank you God) so just have visits to hospital and lots of meds. You are physically and mentally drained can't move for between two and a half four hours whilst attached to the machine. You think that once you're home you'll do this and that it's impossible especially at the beginning end up asleep for hours. I think it's the mental strain the feeling of being completely reliant on a machine. Then of people you get to know passing away, giving up refusing the treatment it was very hard.

That also goes for Dr. They are terrible. The ones that seem to be fabulous ate those from Phoebe never a problem. Also will say I am hit and miss with my self injections, which can be tricky if I get it at 45 degrees no mark, slightly off and I get some whoppers of bruises.

My mother almost died twice at a clinic while receiving dialysis. Luckily she had her cell phone with her and called me. Within seconds I got to a second phone and called their front desk while I kept talking to her on my cell phone. She even told me as we were on the phone that she was waving for help the entire time. This crisis went on for about seven or eight minutes and I was absolutely terrified no one was going to pay attention or discover her before she either went unconscious or even died. The next thing I know I hear her phone slip down and I hear a couple of nurses saying , “Stay with us! Stay with us!” It was the worst most powerless feeling. Luckily she survived both incidents but I was deeply disturbed and concerned over the lack of care she was getting. I was hoping we would learn more from this interview. There has to be more details.

Unfortunately this is healthcare and hospitals . I have been a patient in hospitals and a lot of the staff were heartless and cold . I almost drowned and they threw me in a room all the way down the hall and didn’t give me food or drink. I didn’t see anyone for hours . I was just left at the end of the hall with nothing , not even a call bell . They ignored me and were rough with me when they took my BP one time .

This has happened before. There was a nurse in England, who worked in the NICU. She poisoned several infants to death. Other places she had worked, had noticed some suspicious deaths when she was on rotation so they would fire her and that was it… None of the former places of employment ever made a police report, even to note the suspicious deaths or called the nursing board or anything like that to prevent her from being in a position to hold life in her hands And several of her colleagues had had suspicions of her. So it doesn’t surprise me that a nurse would be able to slip under the radar like this. It’s despicable

😢 that is true. I am 74. I remember the care we received in the hospital back in the day. They cared about you. There were the RN's, then LPN , MA's, Aids helping out. First baby at 17. I had a friend had surgery a few years back. I happened to go to hospital to visit her in middle of day. She had been stuck in a recliner for 30 min and could not get out. I rang the bell for her again. 15 min later I go to the nurses station to get someone!!! They took her to the bathroom and got her in bed. Then they tried to leave without putting the leg cuffs on her !@ i had to stop the nurse and remind her !! My friend get blood clots easily. 😢 you need a advocate popping in at all times.😢 the care is not what it used to be for sure . But is 4 times the cost. Hospitals in the United States are run by Corporations now I think is the problem. Less Nurses bt more patients!! Is the mottos 😢❤🙏

I envy this about Asian culture. Families are held in more importance in Asian places than they are here in the US. Here, adults are mocked for living in a multi generational home. Here, it’s considered normal and expected to put your parents in care. At least this has been my experience as an American citizen. This toxic individuality in my culture needs to stop.

Number, I hear what you’re saying. But I suspect that in other countries, especially countries where elders are respected that putting your parents into a care home is not the default setting. If it’s medically, necessary, I can understand, but I personally would prefer to hire a health aide to come to my home and take care of my mother. At least then I’ll have cameras to see that she isn’t being mistreated if I’m not there.
