Nurse Learns Baby She Helped Deliver Is Her Daughter-in-Law

Kelsey Poll was working as a bank teller when Tyler West walked in. Sparks flew and they started dating and then he asked her to marry him. As the couple planned their wedding, they looked through old family photo albums and came across Poll's baby book. There was a photo of Tyler's mom, Mary Ann West, taking Poll's footprints. Unbeknownst to her, the Utah nurse helped deliver her daughter-in-law 22 years ago.

What a small world! Something somewhat similar happened to my mom. There was a serious complication during my birth and it’s a long story but he saved my life and he was an amazing doctor. 20 years later, we find out that my dads best friends wife is a nurse and actually works with him at the same hospital and they’re like work pals. So cool. Hope I get to meet him someday.

The nurse who helped deliver my first son, walked in on my then husband and I kissing and hugging after the birth of our son. She giggled and said "Watch out, you two, or you're going to be right back here in a year!". Like clockwork, one year and approx 16 hours later, the nurses DAUGHTER helped deliver our second son, and all the pieces came together ❤️ She is who told us it was her mom who had help deliver our first son exactly one year prior 😅 Ps. I had my tubes tied after that!

AMAZING STORY! I’m a CNA and work private pay. I took care of the RN that trained my mom 30yrs ago. I didn’t know it at first. My client had dementia late stages. I was helping her prepare for bed and my mom text me. Her picture comes up when she text me. My client said she knew my mom but I didn’t believe her until she went into great detail lol 😂. She begged to talk to my mom, so I FaceTime them. My mom screamed when they saw each other lol 😂. They talked for 3hrs of my 12hr shift! That was a really good night. My client told me “ I knew there was a reason you gave such good care and baths.” Lol 😂 I liked to put lavender oil in her bath to calm her down. She often had sundowning syndrome and would stay up for hours or days. I remember many nights going home exhausted. I’m a homeschooling mom now but I miss my job a little now.

Have a cousin who is married to a policeman, now retired. Not long after he joined, he was dealing with a road accident, & at one stage, had to cradle a small child until the ambulance arrived. 20+ years later, he was on patrol with a new recruit, & when they passed the spot where he had dealt with that particular incident, she told him that she had been involved in a car crash there as a child, turned out it was her .

This so sweet! Something very “small world” happened to my mother a few years ago. She grew up on a military base in Germany and often babysat as a teenager. Fast forward a few decades to my mom being a seasoned 4th grade teacher in her home state Tennessee. One day, a student brought in a photo of my mother in her youth babysitting that student’s mother. 🥹 How coincidental both parties were stationed on that same military base and later ended up back in Tennessee at the same school. My mom took care of both the mother and her child an ocean apart. ❤️

She actually is more attractive now imo, looks like she was a bit heavier back then and now she’s come into her looks more. Some people truly do get better with age, a good example of this is Mary Louise Parker, when I saw her work in the 90s she was fairly unremarkable looks wise but in Weeds she was a total smoke show. I actually think I’m getting a bit better with age myself, I lost some of the baby fat in my face that made me lack definition. Getting older doesn’t always have to be a bad thing.

Same thing kind of happened to me. The day I was born I stopped breathing and my dad's friend went to find the doctor. I grew up and like friends do my dad and him drifted apart. Years later I was at my aunts house watching the Ring. A guy I didn't recognize walked in and sat on the couch. He kept looking at me which made me really uncomfortable. Then he said "Do you recognize me? Of course you don't? I was the one that ran to get the doctors when you stopped breathing."

Something similar happened to me! I was also born in 2001 but not till 4 months after that girl in October- the nurse who helped deliver me had lived in the same area we did and after we moved states 4 years later, I grew up as a VA child- come to 2021 and I’m working at my job as usual, customer walks in like always, one look and I was shocked. The moment I saw that face, I knew it was her and I just cried, we met up with my parents and shared an about everything up to now. We’ve been in contact since then! God bless all of these amazing healthcare workers for their everyday tasks!

How lovely, instantly the two Mamas had a bond from the incredibly supportive bedside manner of one! Add the fact that she delivered her own daughter in law, is so sweet and it’s clear she sees her daughter in law as her daughter! I was very blessed to have the same midwife with me for both my births, what was amazing is Katie had moved from working the labour/ delivery to antenatal wards, so my son (firstborn) was the last baby she delivered before moving to the antenatal ward. Then two years later, I went into labour on the antenatal/ induction ward. The midwife overnight refused to believe I was in labour, then at the start of the morning shift, in walks Katie and she discovers I am 9cm dilated and there were no midwives free on the labour ward, so Katie took me through and delivered my daughter! My daughter was the first baby she had delivered in two years, and my son was the last baby she delivered before moving to the antenatal ward! That was God ordained, Katie instantly calmed me, which after feeling totally gaslighted, ignored and traumatised from poor treatment overnight - I definitely needed that confidence in my midwife!

I have twin nephews that I changed their diapers before their parents did and I didn’t even know the family yet. I was working in the nursery and we had twins and then the next year I met my husband and we started dating and the day I met his younger sister and her family I kept looking at them like I knew them. Finally I started asking questions and the discovery was made 🤣. Whenever my nephews introduce me to someone they like to tell them how we originally met ❤️ best nephews ever.
