I feel it, too: I have two working-class gods (a construction worker and disabled electrician respectively) who are attracted to me and I admit it, I have considered what marriage would be like with each of them more than once but I am convinced that it would not work. I am not a traditional/ working-class woman; while I have some of the qualities that they admire I don’t have traits that they consider a given. For example: I dress modestly and avoid drama, I never beg them for money or try to force a conversation when we’re together and they’re clearly not in the mood to talk BUT I hate to cook, I pay someone to clean my house and I have RAMPANT ADHD. I gleefully engage in philosophical and sociological discussions but I have also locked myself out of my house so often that I keep an extra set in my backpack. I have to set timers for EVERYTHING just to get through the day. I am NOT the cleaning all the time, making dinner every night sort. I know that with such expectations and my temperament I would be depressed, bingeing on sugar and 400 lbs. and they would be baffled by my sadness because this is generally a working-class woman’s dream come true. These are GOOD men who deserve a partner who wants a traditional relationship and I DESERVE a chatty, emotive philosopher who uses SAT words in regular conversations. #knowyourself #brownnerdgirldreams

Why did he even go for a nurse instead of a woman with no job?
@cherrysunburn83673 ай бұрын
1000% I would like to add that this situation of trying to change someone is a mindset that everyone does, if we do hold ourselves accountable like her character did, then a lot of people will leave the person that don't match with them sooner than later, it's a bonus for everyone in a good way but not a bonus for people who needs to manipulate and control. He saw the passion, value and worth of this woman, he wanted to have all that in the type of woman he wants. I have to say it's disrespectful to assume such drive and strength will be yours just because your there. Of course he would never pick someone without a job, there's to much "what ifs" with her he knows she will be up to par to difficult and unknown challenges coming her way, but someone you have to learn to grow with has never been very desirable to men in general when it comes to a territory that they have no upper hand on... I'm not trying to pan out anybody as a bad guy, but I do feel like if she were to have that baby he was going to hope that she would choose the baby and stay home instead of the job, but being a doctor has always been her passion because there's no women working as doctors in her family only the men so she decided to go a different route and isn't giving it for someone that wants her to change that part of her. Self-preservation is something women really need to hold on to period. I'm happy that she picked and kept on stepping, who has time for being guilt tripped for something that she already told him about. Is one thing she never opened her mouth and wasn't very expressive but she was very upfront with what she said she was never going to do.

Let me try and explain something to some of you. In life you have to do your best to do what's basic especially when you're with someone. She told him they could eat together. When she found out she didn't have time for that she could have saved him the drive like he said. It's painful to leave what you're doing to go somewhere just to be told no when they could have easily texted. If you haven't been in that situation then don't be quick to judge. And he was right to be sad. Nobody knows what he was doing and how many times she canceled on them. I don't suggest anyone to marry someone that's a doctor or a nurse for this exact reason unless they're in the same field. But that's just a suggestion, you do you.
@ashakih16492 ай бұрын
Yeah I agree 100% She wants him to understand bc he KNEW this was her field, but no one can imagine what it's like to be with someone who saves lives- police officers, emt/paramedics, firefighters, doctors, military personnel.. first responders or life savers period. U can not imagine. I feel for her and I feel for him. She could've taken the time to text while she was walking to the vending machine. For her, her life saving work had her mind occupied. I'm not mad at that. Imagine your doctor responds to her bf rather than spend time thinking about how to save you... it's hard on both parties.
