Thank you so much, it’s the first time I watch you and I fell in love with how you are lecturing, digging and detailing without making us bored. So informative and so helpful ❤🙏 I just wish I you add examples of the two digits system. It was the test and I don’t think I answered it correctly. I couldn’t find it nowhere else in KZbin!

@11:30 The mom is 39 weeks pregnant. Why wouldn't we add a tally to the T? Regardless if the mom delivers the baby, it has passed 37 weeks. If the baby were born a stillborn, would we include it in the Abortion category? I understood that abortion or miscarriage only includes anything under 20 weeks of gestation.
@hersheyssmith2104 Жыл бұрын
She was right, T is for full term BIRTH meaning the child is already born and with her example, the mother was still in labor so her T is 0. If the baby is a STILLBORN, it will fall in the Preterm Birth at 37 weeks.

Thanks, this helps. I have my maternity exam tomorrow. I did not know you cannot count term pregnancies unless its delivered, that wrap things up for me.
@j123_0 Жыл бұрын
but didn't she say that Term is the "number of pregnancies" and/or completed pregnancies that have reached >37 weeks of gestation? So in the given scenario, the woman is currently 38 weeks pregnant which means that it should be counted? help-

Great video! What if a previous child was born alive and died at age 5? At the time of the patient interview, this child was no longer alive, but the death was unrelated to the pregnancy. Does L still get a tally mark?

Question about the practice question # 3, would it be T-1 only if the baby was already born and not currently in utero? Is the T for previous pregnancies only?
@hersheyssmith2104 Жыл бұрын
T stands for TERM BIRTH.

Isn't it 38 week of gestation is considered early term?
@NurseInTheMaking2 ай бұрын
A term pregnancy occurs at 37 weeks or after; early term is 37 to 38 weeks & 6 days. However, this is still a term pregnancy to calculate GTPAL. 🙂

I have 1 question if she has already delivered should we write gravida coz we will write it when pregnancy is ongoing but in first question the baby has been delivered already Shouldn't it be T2P0A1L2
@NurseInTheMaking Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your question! We do want to write the gravidity because this stands for the number of times the woman has been pregnant. In practice question #1, the patient just delivered a baby, has a 3-year-old, and had a miscarriage. So, she was pregnant 3 times, which would make the gravidity a 3. I hope this helps to clear up any confusion! 🙂

I have a question she is still pregnant then why did we count it on live brith then 2 question
@NurseInTheMaking6 ай бұрын
Thanks for your question! I did not count the current 38-week pregnancy under the live births or term because she hasn't delivered the baby yet. The only check for the current 38-week pregnancy is under gravidity. The checks under the L for live births are for: 1 check-baby born at 39 weeks, 2 checks-each of the twins born at 34 weeks, and 1 check-baby born at 38 weeks. I hope this answers your question! 🙂
