I can't even begin to thank you enough!!! You are so wonderful! I just completed my TEAS 7 exam today and scored a 93.3% overall. Thanks to you I scored 100% on my Chemistry! I only missed one question on my Biology and ended up with a 90.9% overall on the Science section. I've always been able to understand A&P and basic Biology but Chemistry and specific parts of Biology were just never able to click. You were able to make that happen for me! I don't feel like I just learned and "crammed" for the test. I feel like I have a complete understanding of it now and it will forever stick with me! I am sending you a giant hug!!!

@@danielaluna3521 So I felt like mine had a lot of Scientific Reasoning. I felt like I was extremely over prepared for the chemistry portion of my test. I've heard from several people though that their tests weighed heavily on Chemistry. That could be because maybe they weren't so prepared for it?? I don't know. I think the reason Scientific Reasoning stuck out so much for me is because nobody ever talks about that being part of the science portion. I will say that everything that was on my test Nurse Cheung does cover in her videos.

@@carmelssss I used the Mometrix ATI TEAS 7 Secrets Study Guide Prep Book, as my guide. They have multiple additional recourses listed to use. I took multiple practice tests. If there was something that I wasn't quite understanding then I would find I KZbin video that was only on that particular content, so it would break it down for me until I could completely understand it. I wouldn't move on until I felt like I had a complete grasp on something.

@NurseCheung

Thank you for your kind words! 🌟 It's heartwarming to know that the videos have been of help to you. Here's a structured approach to help you prepare without feeling overwhelmed: Start with a Practice Test: Before diving into your studies, take a full practice TEAS test. This will give you a baseline of where you stand and what specific areas you need to focus on. It's important to understand your current strengths and learning opportunities. Analyze the Results: Once you have your practice test results, spend some time reviewing the areas where you had challenges. This will allow you to target your study sessions more effectively. Create a Study Schedule: Break down your time until January into weeks and decide which topics you'll cover each week. Ensure you allocate more time to your weaker areas, as identified from your practice test. Active Learning Techniques: Summarize notes in your own words, create flashcards, or even teach the content to someone else. The more actively you engage with the material, the better you'll remember it. Regularly Review: Periodically go back and review what you've studied. This not only reinforces the information but also boosts your confidence. Take More Practice Tests: As you get closer to your exam date in January, start taking more practice tests. This will help you get familiar with the test format and improve your test-taking speed and accuracy. Your thoughtful approach and dedication are clear indicators of your commitment. With the time you have and a structured plan, you're setting yourself up for success. Best of luck, and keep up the great work! 📚✨🌈🙌

@NurseCheung
@NurseCheung 6 ай бұрын
Thank you for the kind words! 😊 Regarding the TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills), the Science section does cover basic chemistry concepts. While the exact content can vary from one version of the test to another, you can generally expect to see questions related to: The basic structure of atoms (protons, neutrons, electrons). The periodic table (understanding groups, periods, and general properties of elements). Chemical bonds (ionic vs. covalent). Basic chemical reactions and balancing simple equations. Concepts of acids, bases, and pH. States of matter (solids, liquids, gases) and changes between these states. Basic understanding of mixtures, solutions, and solubility. However, the TEAS tends not to delve too deeply into complex chemical equations or intricate calculations. Instead, it focuses more on a foundational understanding of chemistry concepts. That being said, it's always a good idea to review practice tests or study guides specific to the TEAS to get a feel for the types of questions you might encounter and to identify any areas where you may need to brush up.

Hi, would you mind explaining the moles slide in more detail please? I don't really understand the example you provided. Thank you for all you help :)
@NurseCheung
@NurseCheung Жыл бұрын
Hi there! Great question! Moles in chemistry are like a group of things, like a bunch of grapes or a pack of gum. Instead of grapes or gum, in chemistry we use molecules, which are a group of atoms stuck together. So when we talk about moles in chemistry, we are talking about a group of molecules that we can measure and use in chemical reactions. It's a way for us to measure and work with really tiny things that we can't see with our eyes. One easy way to remember moles in chemistry is to think of it like a dozen. Just like a dozen is a way of counting 12 things, a mole is a way of counting a very large number of tiny particles, like atoms or molecules. So, just like we say "a dozen eggs," we can say "a mole of atoms." It's just a way of keeping track of really big numbers in chemistry!

Hi Nurse Cheung, how did you determine valence electrons based on rows? I am confused on how you got 2 valence electrons and 8 valence electrons at 7:09.
@NurseCheung
@NurseCheung 8 ай бұрын
I apologize if there was any confusion in my video. The number of valence electrons in an atom is generally determined by the group (vertical column) it is in on the periodic table. For the main group elements (s and p blocks), the group number corresponds to the number of valence electrons. For example, elements in Group 1 have 1 valence electron, elements in Group 2 have 2 valence electrons, and so on. This is why elements in Group 1 have 1 valence electron and elements in Group 2 have 2 valence electrons. However, there are a few exceptions when it comes to transition metals and some other elements. These exceptions can be a bit more complex and might require knowledge of electron configurations to determine the exact number of valence electrons. I hope this clarifies the concept for you. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask!

Hi, is the ATI study guide enough for the teas exam??
@NurseCheung
@NurseCheung 6 ай бұрын
The ATI TEAS Study Manual is specifically designed to prepare students for the TEAS exam, and it's a valuable resource. It provides an overview of the material that will be on the test, practice questions, and key strategies. However, whether it is "enough" depends on your current knowledge base, study habits, and comfort with the test material. Many students use the ATI study guide in conjunction with other resources, such as: Online tutorials or videos (like those from Nurse Cheung, as you mentioned in previous comments). Smart Edition Academy: Has a lot of great resources and course online to help with the content. www.smarteditionacademy.com/ati-teas-online-course/ref/71/ Nurse Cheung Study Guides at NurseCheungStore.com It's essential to assess your strengths and weaknesses and tailor your study approach accordingly. If you find a topic challenging in the ATI guide, seek out additional resources or explanations to ensure you understand it fully. In summary, the ATI study guide is an excellent starting point and a comprehensive resource. However, supplementing it with additional tools or methods can be beneficial, depending on your individual needs.

The difference between these two concepts can be confusing. Enzymes are proteins that increase the rate of chemical reactions converting substrate into product. could you explain cohesion and adhesion again I didn't understand the difference?
@NurseCheung
@NurseCheung Жыл бұрын
Cohesion refers to how particles of the same substance (like water molecules) stick together. Think of it like a big group of friends holding hands - they all stick together because they're friends and like being close to each other. The same thing happens with water molecules - they stick together because they're all made of the same thing and like being close to each other. Adhesion, on the other hand, refers to how particles of different substances stick together. So if you put a piece of tape on a piece of paper, the tape is sticking to the paper because of adhesion - two different substances (the tape and the paper) are sticking together. In the case of water, it can stick to other things, like the sides of a glass or a plant stem, because of adhesion - the water molecules are attracted to the other substance and stick to it. I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

I would like to clarify something though the definition of ion says when number of protons are not as same as the number of electrons is true but i hope everyone knows and understands that its the electrons we loose or gain that makes it a cation and or anion.
@NurseCheung
@NurseCheung Ай бұрын
Absolutely, you've made a very important clarification! An ion is formed precisely because of the loss or gain of electrons, which leads to an imbalance between the number of protons and electrons. When an atom loses one or more electrons, it becomes a positively charged ion, known as a cation. Conversely, when an atom gains electrons, it becomes negatively charged, and we call it an anion. This change in electrical charge is fundamental to many processes in chemistry and biology, from the formation of compounds to the conduction of electricity in solutions. Thank you for emphasizing this key concept and ensuring a deeper understanding. It's crucial for everyone delving into these topics to grasp the nature of ions fully. Keep up the great work and curiosity!

@NurseCheung
@NurseCheung Жыл бұрын
Hey there! Thank you for your feedback, and I'm sorry to hear that you're having difficulty understanding some of the concepts, such as how to find the number of valence electrons. I'll do my best to explain it in more detail for you. Valence electrons are the electrons that are found in the outermost energy level of an atom. To find the number of valence electrons in an element, you can look at its group number on the periodic table. For example, elements in Group 1 have 1 valence electron, elements in Group 2 have 2 valence electrons, and so on. For elements in the transition metals (Groups 3-12), the number of valence electrons can vary. I hope this helps, and don't hesitate to let me know if you have any more questions or if there's anything else I can do to help!
@ARogo85
@ARogo85 Жыл бұрын
Hey Angel! Just a little tip that helped me. If there is a particular subject matter that you are having a hard time "grasping", such as valence electrons, I recommend searching that exact content on KZbin. You will then find multiple videos that will explain only valence electrons. She is covering a lot of content in one video. So this way you can focus on just valence electrons and it will be broken down for you completely. You may have to go through a couple videos to find one that makes sense and works for you but this is what helped me. This doesn't pertain to Chemistry but Biology, I couldn't understand how to read a Codon Table. So I found a great video that explained exactly how to do this. It ended up not being on my test but I gained that knowledge if I ever need it in the future.

@NurseCheung
@NurseCheung 11 ай бұрын
Hi there! Thank you for your comment. You are correct that ions gain or lose electrons to achieve a stable electron configuration. In the context of chemical reactions, it's the electrons that are transferred, gained, or lost, leading to the formation of ions. Protons, on the other hand, are positively charged particles found in the nucleus of an atom, and they remain unchanged during typical chemical reactions. I hope this clarifies any confusion, and if you have any more questions, feel free to ask!
