That's fantastic to hear you're feeling inspired and hopeful after seeing others' success stories! Utilizing a variety of resources is an excellent approach. Each method offers something a little different, helping to reinforce your knowledge from multiple angles. With 20 days to go, you're in a great position to solidify what you've learned and fine-tune any areas where you feel less confident. The variety in your study materials will likely keep your prep sessions engaging and dynamic, which is a fantastic way to maintain focus and motivation. Best of luck - you're going to do great! 🌟📚💪🍀

I passed the TEAS 7 a few days ago. Your videos plus the practice test reviews were super helpful! So glad I went over Mendel's Law of Inheritance and the punnett square☺. I was surprised I didn't have questions comprised of : select all that apply, fill in the blank, or ordered responses. For the science portion, I had questions on properties of solutions, chemical reactions, control group vs dependent/independent, DNA replication, calculating and identifying atomic number/mass, and immune cells. Have a wonderful day!!

That's fantastic to hear that you're putting in the effort and dedication to study for your upcoming test! It's great that you're using my videos and the Smart Edition course to prepare. Remember, consistency and regular practice are key to retaining the information effectively. Creating mnemonics is an excellent strategy to enhance your memory and recall important concepts. Mnemonics can be fun, creative, and personalized, making it easier for you to remember complex information. Here are a few tips for coming up with effective mnemonics: Keep It Simple: Create simple and memorable phrases or acronyms that capture the key points you need to remember. Visualize: Visualize images or scenes that represent the information you want to recall. Creating mental associations can be powerful for memory retention. Use Humor or Rhymes: Incorporate humor or rhymes into your mnemonics to make them more enjoyable and easier to remember. Connect to Personal Experiences: Relate the information to your own experiences or interests. Making it relevant to your life can aid in memory recall. Practice Regularly: Review and reinforce your mnemonics regularly to ensure they stick in your memory. Group Information: If you have related information to remember, group it together and create a mnemonic for the entire group. Share with Others: Teaching your mnemonics to others can reinforce your own understanding and help solidify the information in your mind. Remember, everyone's learning style is different, so feel free to experiment with various mnemonic techniques to find what works best for you. Consistent practice and dedication will undoubtedly pay off during your exam. Best of luck on your TEAS test at the end of the month! You've got this! 🌟📚

First of all, I LOVE your videos. I have watched all of the science ones so far as that is the area I'm struggling in and making lots of flashcards with your content to study. You really do break things down into the simplest form, so thank you for that! One question that I have is regarding meiosis II. I don't quite understand it. Do the steps begin with all of the phases of mitosis and then go into meiosis? In other words, does mitosis + meiosis II = meiosis II? (Interphase -> prophase -> metaphase -> anaphase -> telophase -> prophase II -> metaphase II -> anaphase II -> telophase II = meiosis II?) Thank you again for all of your help. You're a lifesaver!
@NurseCheung

First of all, you are incredible Tiffany Hughes 😊💜 Thank you for supporting my channel 💜 As for Meiosis, an easy way to think of it is that you have two stages of mitosis. The first stage is similar to Mitosis; however, the two cells that are created during the first stage are then split apart again following the same process leading to four new cells instead of just two.

When you did the dihybrid cross chart and used foil method, I noticed you went straight across the top(left to right) then started from the bottom up for vertical side. Does it matter if i start from bottom up or go from top to bottom? Thanks for all you do nurse cheung!
@NurseCheung
@NurseCheung 6 ай бұрын
In a dihybrid cross, you typically set up a Punnett square using the FOIL (First, Outer, Inner, Last) method to determine the different allele combinations each parent can produce. When filling out the Punnett square itself, the order in which you fill the boxes isn't critical, as long as each possible gamete combination from one parent is aligned on one axis (typically the top) and each possible gamete combination from the other parent is aligned on the perpendicular axis (typically the side).Whether you choose to fill in the gametes from top to bottom or bottom to top on the vertical axis, or from left to right or right to left on the horizontal axis, does not affect the outcome. The important thing is that each gamete combination is matched with each gamete combination from the other parent exactly once. The goal is to be systematic in your approach to ensure all possible combinations are represented. This way, you can accurately predict the genotypic and phenotypic ratios of the offspring from the two parents in the cross.

if we were given a punnett square like the one at 34 min would it be given that they are looking for one type of inheritance over the other and that's how we determine the coloring of the chicken? or the opposite by being given the coloring and asked to determine if it's codominant or incomplete
@NurseCheung
@NurseCheung Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your question, Donya! We're sorry that we were not able to answer it in the video. The Punnett square is used to predict the possible genetic outcomes of a cross breeding two animals. In this case, we are looking at what color the chick will be based on the coloring of its parents.💜😊

For example, the videos go over dna replication( helicase, single strand binding, unraveling of hydrogen bonds) and different cell cycle( such as s, g1, g2 stage) that are not covered in the book. My question is that should I also be studying those things or should I stick with the official study guide book?

Hello! It's great that you're being thorough with your TEAS prep and noticing the differences in the depth of content between various study materials. The official ATI TEAS 7 book is designed to align closely with what you'll encounter on the test, providing a focused overview of the topics. Many test takers have advised that the TEAS questions are more in-depth compared to what is covered in most study guides. Which is why I created these videos to provide those more in-depth reviews. Remember, the goal is to be well-prepared but not overwhelmed. It's about understanding key concepts well enough to apply them in various contexts, as the TEAS often tests your ability to think critically about the information you know. Best of luck with your studies and your upcoming TEAS exam! You're taking a thoughtful approach to your preparation, which is fantastic. 🌟📚🔬📖

Hey all , when you guys took the TEAS are the questions/answers similar to these or are they more scientifically written ? Thank you
@NurseCheung
@NurseCheung 11 ай бұрын
Hey there! The questions on the actual TEAS exam may vary in their wording and complexity, but the concepts covered are similar to what you see in these videos. The TEAS exam aims to assess your knowledge in areas like English, math, science, and reading. While the questions may be presented in a more scientific manner on the exam, these videos provide a solid foundation and understanding of the topics you'll encounter. It's always a good idea to practice with sample questions and familiarize yourself with the format of the exam to feel more comfortable on test day. Remember to study and prepare well, and don't hesitate to reach out if you have any more questions. Good luck on your TEAS exam!

Do they make you right out the entire punnet square or is it pre filled?
@NurseCheung
@NurseCheung Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your question! In the TEAS exam, you may encounter questions related to Punnett squares, which are used to predict the probabilities of genetic traits in offspring. Typically, you'll be provided with the necessary information, such as the genotypes of the parents, and you'll need to use that information to complete or analyze a Punnett square. The square itself may or may not be pre-filled, depending on the specific question. It's important to remember that the TEAS exam evaluates your understanding of genetics, including the principles of Punnett squares. So, it's a good idea to familiarize yourself with how Punnett squares work, practice filling them out, and understand how to interpret the results. If you encounter any Punnett square questions during the exam, carefully read the instructions and the given information to determine whether you need to fill out the square or analyze an already filled one. Take your time, think through the problem logically, and apply your knowledge of genetics. Good luck with your exam!

What does the V from ATV come from and the I from CGI at at 13:21
@NurseCheung
@NurseCheung 4 ай бұрын
Ah, it seems like there might be a bit of confusion regarding the mnemonics ATV and CGI. These mnemonics are meant to help remember base pairing in DNA, where Adenine (A) pairs with Thymine (T) and Cytosine (C) pairs with Guanine (G). However, the 'V' in ATV and the 'I' in CGI don't represent nucleotide bases or any specific aspect of codon attachment. They're just there to make the mnemonics more memorable or to form a pronounceable word. In the context of DNA base pairing, only the A-T and C-G parts are relevant. It's important to remember that mnemonics are just creative tools to aid memory. The key takeaway is the pairing of the bases: A with T, and C with G. 🧬🔬🌟

Hello, I am hoping someone can help me out. I am going to be taking my TEAS 7 on March 3rd and I am freaking out. The ATI book was a waste of money and full of errors. I am going mainly off of Nurse Cheungs videos and researching topics like cellular respiration on the side. To anyone that has already taken the test, will this be enough material to study to get into low 90's? I only have one shot taking the TEAS so I appreciate any and all help! Also, chemistry and English (even though its my favorite topic) are proving to be my weakest subjects.

is there enough time in the exam to work out multiple allele equations
@NurseCheung
@NurseCheung 9 ай бұрын
For genetics questions that involve multiple allele equations, it's advisable to approach them if you feel confident in your understanding of the topic and can work through them efficiently. However, if genetics equations are not your strongest area, it might be wise to allocate your time to other questions that you are more comfortable with and can answer accurately within the given time frame. Remember that the TEAS exam is a comprehensive test, and focusing on improving your overall performance across all sections can contribute significantly to your final score. If you're uncertain about certain topics, it might be helpful to prioritize reviewing concepts that have a broader presence on the exam and where you feel more confident.

Hi at 22:04 I don't understand why it's not 25%?
@NurseCheung
@NurseCheung Жыл бұрын
Great question Nancy1204 😊💜 The question asks, "what percentage of offspring will have blue eyes?" Blues are considered recessive, and they are shown in the example as a lowercase "b." In order for an offspring to have blue eyes, they cannot have a dominant upper case "B" in their alleles, or else the phenotype will show brown instead of blue. If you look at the Punnett square, you will see that out of the four possibilities, there are two that have both "bb" alleles giving the offspring a better chance to have blue eyes. So in this case, the answer would be 50%.

Omg I’m sooo confused with dihybrid cross! Why do we start with green in our squares?
@NurseCheung
@NurseCheung Жыл бұрын
I understand that dihybrid crosses can be confusing at first! When constructing a dihybrid cross, the order of the traits being examined doesn't matter, but one trait is usually listed first in the problem. In the case of the green and yellow pea pods, green is likely listed first because it's the dominant trait. When constructing the Punnett square, the dominant trait is usually listed first in the top row and left column, with the recessive trait listed second. This allows you to see all possible combinations of alleles and their resulting phenotypes. Let me know if you have any more questions or concerns!

In the chicken punnent square.... why would the chickens be black and white? couldn't it be another option that they are a blend of black and white, so grey? how do you know if it will be incomplete dominance or codominance?
@NurseCheung
@NurseCheung Жыл бұрын
Hi Makayla, thanks for your question! 😊💜 Chickens can come in a variety of colors, including black and white. Incomplete dominance is when the two alleles (forms of a gene) for a particular trait are not equal in strength, so the phenotype (the actual appearance of the chicken) is a blend of the two. Co-dominance is when both alleles are expressed equally, so you would see chickens that are entirely black and white.

I am an international student and i have to give ati teas and concern about that is all the portion of these videos are enough if studied properly?
@NurseCheung
@NurseCheung 3 ай бұрын
I hold a special place in my heart for international students as I used to work with them in my previous position extensively. As an international student preparing for the ATI TEAS, it's great that you're seeking out resources like videos to help with your studies. These videos can provide a solid foundation and cover a wide range of topics that are typically included in the TEAS exam, which assesses basic knowledge in areas such as Reading, Mathematics, Science, and English and Language Usage. While these videos can be incredibly helpful and cover a lot of the necessary content, it's also important to complement them with other study materials. This might include practice tests, study guides, and textbooks specifically designed for the TEAS. Practice tests, in particular, can be very beneficial as they help familiarize you with the format of the exam and the types of questions you might encounter. Given that you're an international student, you might also want to spend some extra time on sections that could present more challenges due to language or educational background differences, such as the English and Language Usage section. Studying properly, understanding the concepts, and applying them in practice questions will definitely enhance your preparation. Consistency in studying and taking care of your well-being during the preparation period are also key. Best of luck with your ATI TEAS preparation! Keep up the great work, and don't hesitate to seek out additional help if needed. 🌟📚🌍

In prophase does the chromosome become visible or invisible?
@NurseCheung
@NurseCheung 4 ай бұрын
Great question! In prophase, the first stage of both mitosis and meiosis, chromosomes become visible. This visibility is due to the condensation of chromatin into more tightly packed chromosomes, making them easier to see under a microscope. Prior to prophase, during interphase, chromosomes are less condensed and not as clearly visible. This change is crucial for the process of cell division, as it allows the chromosomes to be more easily separated and distributed to daughter cells. 🧬🔬🌟

Dihybrid cross can be very confusing and is sometimes difficult to teach. 😊💜 I would recommend first learning the FOIL method so that you can master the first part of the dihybrid cross and then move on to the Punnett Square method. Once you have mastered both of those, it is easy to figure out the best of the cross, as the dominant colors or features will always be dominant. You will need to configure what the possible traits are at the end 😊💜 Best of luck Meami. You got this!!

@NurseCheung 8 ай бұрын
Oh, I totally get how nerve-wracking it can be, but you've got this! 🌟 Pre-test nerves are natural, especially for an important exam like the TEAS. Here are some tips and words of encouragement: Stay Organized: Plan out your study schedule for these last few weeks, focusing on areas where you feel least confident. This structured approach can help reduce anxiety. Practice, Practice, Practice: Use TEAS practice tests to familiarize yourself with the question format and time management. Review the answers, especially the ones you got wrong, to understand the reasoning. Take Breaks: Don't forget to give yourself short breaks during study sessions. It helps maintain focus and reduces the feeling of being overwhelmed. Day Before the Exam: Spend the day before your exam relaxing, maybe reviewing a bit, but mainly recharging. Don't cram. Ensure you have everything ready for the exam day, like your ID, any required materials, etc. Exam Day: Arrive early so you don't feel rushed. Take deep breaths if you start to feel anxious. Read every question thoroughly, and remember that it's okay to skip and return to a difficult question later. Remember, the TEAS is just one part of your journey. You've been preparing for this, and you have the knowledge and skills. Trust in your abilities and the work you've put in. 💪🌈 Wishing you all the success on your TEAS exam! 💖🍀✨ You can do this! 🙌🎉

Hello nurse Cheung! I guess I'm stupid because I'm having a real hard time comprehending the definition of OSMOSIS. Two definitions show up on Google; "osmosis is the movement of water molecules from a solution with a high concentration of water molecules to a solution with a lower concentration of water molecules", and "water moves from areas of low concentration of solute to areas of high concentration of solute." So, is it High to Low or Low to High? Are they pretty much mean the same thing since one is solution and other one is solute. Thank you so much in advance for helping with my stupidity :(, and have a wonderful weekend!
@NurseCheung
@NurseCheung 9 ай бұрын
Hello there! Don't worry, you're not alone in finding the concept of osmosis a bit tricky to grasp. I'm here to help clear things up for you. The definition of osmosis can indeed be a bit confusing because it involves both the movement of water molecules and the concentration of solutes. To simplify: Osmosis involves the movement of water molecules from an area of low solute concentration to an area of high solute concentration across a semi-permeable membrane. So, both definitions you found are referring to the same concept, just phrased slightly differently. One mentions the concentration of water molecules, while the other focuses on the concentration of solutes. Remember that osmosis is driven by the goal of equalizing the concentration of solutes on both sides of the membrane. You're not stupid at all! Understanding these scientific concepts takes time, and you're making the effort to learn. Feel free to ask more questions if needed, and have a fantastic day!
