Hi for more info I heard you said you don't pay private health insurance but I would advice you to pay that coz you might think you are saving but you are not because if you do not have private health insuarance you pay what is called a Medicare surcharge at the end of the financial year when you do your tax returns, and the charge is almost equivalent if not more than the annual fee you pay for private health insuarance. So at the end of the day you benefit more if you are insuared incase you need to use at private care. Unlike jus paying all that money to the government and don't enjoy the benefit of private care. Even though there is free health care in public hospitals for PRs and citizens, the government encourages people to have private health inorder to reduce the pressure in public hospitals and hence if you don't have you pay Medicare surcharge it's around $2800 if not more depends on how much you earn annually

Thank you so much, I'm going to do just that. It is my first year here and i think we are exempted until we start earning a certain amount, hence I delayed getting it.

I'm in Qld. You guys seem not to spend much (which is good). I'm one person and spend roughly the same. However I spend $60-$80 every 2 weeks on fuel (small car). Stay with your union. It's not worth it until you need it...just like car insurance
@NurseDeo3 ай бұрын
🤣🤣 omg! I thought we spend a lot! I heard Queensland is cheaper, I'm shocked you pay similar. That union thing eh, how much do you pay? Thanks for watching hun💙
@learngrow91723 ай бұрын
@@NurseDeo depends where you live and lifestyle. I'm in Brisbane and self employed hence the fuel spend and no union.
