@@joycebrooks5171 Hi! You will have to check with your State Board of Nursing in regards to online CNA courses. Most states do not recognize the online courses as the majority are not accredited. It would be a waste of your time and money. Now, online refresher courses are available. I am actually working on one. These courses do not have to be accredited as they are not part of the formal training. Immerse yourself in your studies. Volunteer to demonstrate skills in class. Participate in classroom discussion. Watch my videos!!! Ask questions, especially the "WHY?" question. When you know the "why", you will gain a better understanding of theory and Clinical. Be responsible for your learning. Take what your instructor instills in you and carry it home to practice outside the classroom setting. Ooh! I could go on and on with advise!!! Hi Mrs.Julie, during the skills testing do the clients knees need to be touching the back of the bed while sitting with their feet flat on the floor on any of the steps in order to receive credit?
@NURSEJAR4 жыл бұрын
Hi, Salendra! The only time you will want the client's knees or legs to be touching the bed and/or wheelchair is when you are assisting them to sit on the bed and/or wheelchair. When assisting the person to sit at the side of the bed, you must continue to assist them ( hands on the person) until there feet are flat on the floor. If not, you will AUTOMATICALLY FAIL this skill. As far as Order Dependent steps, if the are order dependent on each other, you must perform them in the order as listed in your handbook. With this skill, steps 3 through 8 are order dependent, but not on each other. They are order dependent to step 9. Therefore, steps 3-8 may be performed in any order as long as you perform them before you perform step 9. Hope I answered your question!

Hi Ms Julie For the prometric test do I not put on the patient’s shoes for them? I’ve seen people do it on videos
@NURSEJAR5 жыл бұрын
Hi, Iyssa! Prometric does not specify whether or not the testing candidate has to physically place the person's shoes on their feet. It states only that the candidate has to ensure that the person is wearing non-skid footwear before standing the person. Therefore, I think it is safe to say that, as long as the testing candidate initiates the putting on of the person's, you will receive credit for that step.

Do we have to do the steps in order??? Or just make sure we do ALL steps?
@NURSEJAR5 жыл бұрын
Hi, Deemyra! Steps 3-7 are not order dependent on each other; therefore, steps 3-7 may be performed in any order as long as you perform them BEFORE assisting the person to stand. Be careful with STEP #7. If the transfer (gait) belt is touching the person's street clothes, you will not receive credit for this step. So, ensure the person's gown is closed completely in the back as much as possible. I encourage nurse aide candidates to secure the gown in place with the waist straps immediately after assisting the person to a seated position on the side of the bed. I also encourage them to readjust or re-check the gown before and after assisting the person to stand. Hope I answered your question!

Are these skills for California?
@NURSEJAR5 жыл бұрын
Hi, Carrie. These skills are for all states that fall under Pearson Vue as the Authorized Test Administrator. California is under Pearson Vue. However, "Provides Catheter Care for Female" is not testable in the state of California.

How much is taken study to be CNA?
@NURSEJAR5 жыл бұрын
Hi, A S! Not quite sure what you are asking. If you're asking about the cost, different training centers charge a different amount. Cost can range anywhere from $750 to $3500. If you are asking about the length of time of training, again, it all depends on the training institution. Training cycles may last anywhere from 3-week fast track programs to 6 months to a full year. If I did not answer your question, please comment. Thank You!

The patient cant always be of help lifting their torso to seated position or even move legs off bed. Would love to see a demo with a dead weight patient.

Hi, S. C.! These videos are for training for candidates who will be testing. However, in real life, for a patient who is immobile or cannot bear their own body weight, you would not be ambulating them. If you needed to transfer a patient as such, you would use a mechanical lift with 2-person assist.

@@berthagustave7452 You have to try your best to relax your nerves during testing. If not, they will get the best of you. Do you know exactly why you failed the Radial Pulse skill, and what areas of the written exam that caused you to fail?

@@NURSEJAR perhaps the client should place hands slightly below your shoulders. You didn't ask the client whether they are dizzy
@NURSEJAR3 жыл бұрын
@@jeneralirobert This training video is for Pearson Vue. Asking the client about dizziness is not a required step for Pearson Vue. As far as the placement of the client's hands, you will want him or her to place their hands on the bed so they can help push themselves off the bed when being assisted to stand. Thank you for your observations.
