I did test on Nov 25th and it was negative. I had horrendous GI issue and went on antibiotics. Did during that and it was negative. I was happy it came out negative. Had some terrible virus.

It was suggested that those aged 50 to 75 should take FoBT tests periodically. Does this imply that there is no need (or useless!) to take these tests?

The periodic testing is to help catch illnesses while they are still hidden- no symptoms. Worth the time in my mind

I told my doctor all that comes out is blood for months now... Right now I'm freezing cold, dripping sweat. But I'm colorblind so I can't tell what color my stool is. Red and brown are almost 100% the same color to my brain. "Oversaturated brown" is probably what others would describe the color as. Green is also the same color. Fun fact. My doctor gave me this little thing and not this whole package you have. She didn't give me anything to drop onto the "A" and "B" collection sites. Just told me to return it within 24 hours of the sample collection because oxygenation, etc. That's annoying... I'm probably going to figure out what the solution is that causes the chemical reaction and hopefully create it myself if possible... 75% peroxide and 25% equal parts ethanol mixture... I have that. Man. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. Eat a perfect diet every day. Don't eat too much candy or gluten or whatever. Balance in all aspects of life is so important, yet I was never taught. Exercise. Meditate. Read. Stay hydrated. But this pain is sooooo intense and every picture I've shown to others has been "Yeah that's blood. See a doctor. Then the doctor tells me I'm fine when I wake up from whatever they just performed on my guts. I've had every single test done on me. Nothing. Super close to going to that facility in Washington D.C. because nobody can figure me out and I feel like I'm actually dying. I mean. I'm literally having blood-diarrhea multiple times every single day lol. Be careful with diet. I could have easily prevented this if I didn't drink 26 beers every single day for 10 years straight. Addiction. It's a curse and a disease. It's not usually poor impulse control... usually. It's escapism from trauma. Best of luck to anyone who read this ha. I've been having stomach issues for this whole year and my Doctor thinks I may have H-Pylori but I for sure have hemorrhoids and bleed EVERY time I poop and my Doctor knows this BUT she still mailed out the occult blood test kit for me to complete so I'm wondering will the results be accurate?🤔

Great question. The bleeding from hemorrhoids will be on the surface of the stool - whereas occult blood will be in the stool and will not be fresh blood. How much it will impact your test - I would ask the lab

Thing’s to consider: I’m stressed all the got damn time… Relationship stress Holding onto and dwelling on pandemics, war, loyalties. Check those things out before judging yourself as having something that maybe by changing a few things you can beat yourself. It comes in a can and is a white powder: It dissolve’s in water (Granny’s remedy, seriously) It was popular about the years of the Jackie Gleason show. You’ll find it at any Rexall pharmacy…in 1950. Drink water, cut poisonous meat until out of system completely then come back and Thank me. One thing, though, don’t whine, it’s bad for self-confidence and Healing. Any blood in the stool sample will show up as a positive test. If this is a chronic issue, talk to your healthcare provider

Where to safe the kit from day by day?

Close the cover of the Hemoccult slide and put it back into its paper envelope. Don’t put it in anything waterproof, such as a plastic bag. Store it at room temperature, away from light, children, and pets (ref: www.mskcc.org/cancer-care/patient-education/fecal-occult-blood-test)

I drink about 200mL of grapefruit juice every morning. Is this OK within the three-day window prior to first stool collection?

Grapefruit juice is to be stopped two to three days prior to the test as it can cause a false positive test result
