Wow! Pets can also get DKA? I am a human emergency nurse with type 1 diabetes. I have frequently been on either end of the hospital bed treating that metabolic crisis. My using an insulin pump + CGMS to control glucose is crucial. I await a pancreas transplant, but want to return to work in acute care.
