I'm with you bud, the valleys in the depths of our minds can be hard to climb out of but there are life lines to help. You just gotta find the one that's strong enough to support your mind's weight and all the bullshit that wants to drag you back down to the bottom. Its just tough to see those lines around you when everything is dark. I believe in you.

Everything he's saying should be obvious, but it seems that so much of the content we consume nowadays is driven by despair and negativity. It makes us forget how beautiful and good life is from its vast awesomeness to its tiny intricacies. Nurture is a refreshing and much needed reminder of the fact that we can always find a reason for hope if we look for it.

Extremely well put. The world could use more unabashedly hopeful content like Nurture.

@@toastytoast1890 first step is google bro :) but to get yourself on the right foot, what you're looking for is called a "DAW". some of the most popular are FL Studio, Ableton Live, Logic Pro, Cubase, and more. all of those are paid, so if you don't have a ton laying around right now, you can go with a free DAW for right now, like Ableton Live LITE, Garageband, or Bitwig

I appreciate how he just makes what he likes. I feel like so many people care too much about what’s trending, or what other people think. One thing I have always lived by in my production is that I am my main audience. I want to make my favorite songs! Also I have been realizing how just being yourself and swallowing your pride is so much better than trying to prove yourself to people.

Honestly hyped for the recently announced new album, ngl it's gonna be difficult to top the stuff he did in Nurture. I enjoyed his Worlds/Shelter era but Nurture hit emotionally harder, especially for how unique, beautiful and awe-inspiring it was for a lot of fans, it even helped me through a couple of the most heart-wrenching years of my life....music truly is a blessing for the soul. Legit always find myself feeling refreshed and gaining inspiration whenever I come back to this motivational speech of his, so honoured to have experienced the Nurture set live twice here in London back in 2022 and I'm excited for what new era of Porter comes next!😁...hopefully new Virtual Self too lol 😅 Nurture Forever 🙏💚

Nurture holds a special place in my heart, Look at the Sky especially helped me get through really dark times when I was genuinely so ready to just give up everything. The line: "I'll be alive next year", kept me going. I'd loop it through each day along other nurture songs and now I'm still here 2 years after I thought I'd end it. Even now when I know he won't hold any more Nurture shows which I really wish I could have attended, I'm still happy for everything and so grateful for Porter and his work. It's one of the big reasons why I managed to pull through and I'm actually doing way better now, got some help for myself and I'm genuinely enjoying like again after around 6 years of struggling. Thank you, your music did in fact save lives 💜

After man years of being in such a dark place through abuse, depression, eating disorders, and horrible paralyzing anxiety, all I want is that hope I once had before everything turned dark for me. In the past 2 years I've been on a journey to recover from those deep scars I harbored for so long, and now I finally feel that genuine pure hope that life does get better, that my life will get better. I was loosing hope recently and that when I came across your Nurture album and was reassured that I was going on the right path. That I was doing fine, that there was no need to worry any more. Thank you for restoring that light in me and for inspiring me with your music after you had gone through such a troubling time in your own mental health. Thank you for being here and creating a world that reminds everyone that reality isn't all that bad
@LucasTheOnion2 жыл бұрын
I hope over these 10 months you managed to feel better. Sadly I don't think the scars on our bodies or minds ever heal, but we can learn to accept and live with them, to work our lives with and/or despite them. And with the way life is, you can never truly say if things will get better. But they might. And I think that itself is worth living through life to see. Because it might be very worth it.

Todays been tough, this made it better. Porter made it better, hope makes it better. I remember seeing a video of him from the Worlds era which a t shirt on that said "fuck real life", which was fitting for an album about escapism. To see him now though, on the other side of his painful days, at peace with himself and his own hope and optimism, is so touching to me. When he talked about real life being beautiful and worthwhile here, I got goosebumps. He's the same kid but he's grown; were all the same kids looking to escape only to realize that there's a better way than escaping real life: learning to embrace it. Thank you Porter.

I personally thinks there's something more than hope: finding the will to keep living. It's easier to find hope when you're sorrounded by a supporting family or social and economic privileges. What if there's none? I feel we must try, as artists, to share that humble joy. It's just as important as fighting for a more equal and ecologic world.
