This is why Porter is so amazing to be. He’s been through these same lows as me, and the music he made/used to get out was the album “Nurture” was the album that changed MY life. Absolutely insane. Someone I have never met made the exact album that I needed to survive. Wow

That smile at 1:15 when he played the clip made me so happy and idk why.

The complete beauty and irony of this piece is that instrumental hook that kept him going literally was the "something comforting" that he was looking for.
@eternallysenseless89572 жыл бұрын
That's the thing too. Music is improvised not planned. It's hard to make music when you've exhausted your creativity. You could probably play an instrument and see what happens but if that's all you do, you'll eventually just run out of things to work with. That's why I take a break from time to time from making music and come back to it a different time. You gotta let your creativity recharge.

I don't know how many times I've watched this video just to see Porter's face light up with the most innocent, sincere smile the second he starts playing the hook.

Halfway through the video I was like “Oh! That melody was the something comforting!” Idk if that’s how he thought about it, but it could be.

Seeing him smile just listening to that hook gave me a smile just as wide. ^^ It always makes me so happy seeing artists feel good about their own work.

This is such an important video and the part of the song he taks about that he knew that he wanted to keep at the start that was his vibe, you can totally feel that in the song when you listen to it ❤

It’s so weird hearing someone’s confessions of their lowest point be the epitome of your highest point. Or maybe it’s not weird. It’s human. It’s something comforting. Sincerely, an industry game designer/dev that needed that when it mattered most. Thank you, Porter. You’ll never read this, but hopefully some people will…and it will spread that positivity.

just wish i could find something comforting myself.. im the same age as porter but a lot less talented and going nowhere.....i wish giving up was an option
@liamzeyle42832 жыл бұрын
Please don't ever consider that... you're in NO way less talented. Talent is one thing, work and effort is another thing. Literally everyone's stuff sounds mediocre at the beginning, no one starts out as a pro, no matter what their profession is. Maybe there are people who tell you you lack talent, whatever, don't listen to them. Giving up guarantees you'll go nowhere, 100 %. But if you keep going, you WILL find something comforting eventually. So hang in there :)
