Thanks everyone who watched this video! I know the sound quality is a little rough but subtitles should help with that. I also have a few other videos on this topic that have similar information. Let me know if you have any questions!

Were you on pain killers after bar removal? Would you do the bar placement again (knowing everything you know now about recovery)?
@Tea-rifficMornings

Yes, I was. Only one narcotic though, unlike when I got it in.

@@mtio2807 Thanks for sharing that, I really appreciate it. It's great to know sharing my experience helps other people. You must be really strong to not have taken the pain killers. I took them and they're no joke. I ended up being put on another, stronger one in the hospital because an overnight nurse made a mistake and they kept me in the hospital to make sure I withdrew safely from that one. Maybe I'll share more about that in a future video.

Thanks for pointing that out! This was back when I wasn't as good at making videos, some of my other videos on this subject are easier to understand but I'm happy to answer any questions you have.

getting my bar removed tomorrow after 4y 10m (5 years close enough). recovery for the first three months of having it put in was extremely awful, needed to drop out a semester of school because of how excruciating the pain was. it’s difficult to take care of yourself when you’re constantly taking pain medication knowing you can barely do anything without help! time felt slower than ever but it only gets better as the body heals. hoping recovery this time is much easier and faster from what i’ve heard so far and id say getting this surgery done is definitely worth it in the long run. it has made me a greater and stronger person so far better to take the opportunity while you can 🙂

Absolutely, it was really hard but worth it in the long run. I think a lot of us who got this surgery can relate to what you went through there. I definitely understand. Congrats on getting your bar out! Everything got so much better for me when I got mine out.

Your video would be so much better without the background music (which drowns out your voice)

Yeah, I agree, I made it a while ago when I wasn’t as good at making videos, there should be other videos of mine with similar information.

Did you have any posture correction therapies after insertion ?? As we all pectus people have terrible hunchback posture
@Tea-rifficMornings
@Tea-rifficMornings 3 жыл бұрын
I didn't go to any physical therapy for the precuts specifically. I have always gone to a chiropractor and massage therapist though so they helped me by giving me stretched and things I could do. Also, if you can strengthen your back and core, that always helps. As always, ask your doctor for the best advice ;)

@@Tea-rifficMornings hi sorry i haven't seen your answer before i don't know why the notification that you posted a response to my comment has only just arrived. My recovery is going well now it's been a little over 3 months I am very happy with the surgery. I am removing the bar in 1 year and 9 months and that is a total of 2 years of wearing the bar and it sucks to remove it in 2022.🙂

Recovery is going well, I just went back to aerial silks yesterday and I'm sore but not in a ton of pain. Really only the incisions hurt now but not much. The first week and a half were the worst, after that it's smoother. You'll do so great Tuesday! Thanks for reaching out :)
