Thanks so much Judi. Baking holiday pies I noticed lack luster in the pre-ground. Didn't know why. The bottle was probably 1 yr. + old. I'll to search for seeds. By the way I started watching your dry eye video but didn't get time to finish I'll let you know how things work out. I suffer terribly. I'm always "crying". Thanks again.

Hi Poochie! Thanks for watching and sharing! Yes, bottled herbs and spices loose their flavors over time. The general "rule of thumb" is to replace them every 6 months...I dare say that most of us don't do that (me included). Also, ground nutmeg will not hold its flavor as well as fresh nutmeg seeds. So, it's no wonder that your ground nutmeg had little flavor. Good luck finding the whole nutmeg. Some stores have it, but not all. Regarding the dry eyes...sounds like your eye situation is very much like mine WAS. I was "crying" ALL the time, especially when going into large department stores. There was something about their air/ventilation systems that made it worse. Anyway, invest in a bottle of the vegan Omega-3 fats (with preformed DHA and EPA) and take them according the the directions on the bottle. Hopefully they will help you as much as they helped me. Since I've been taking them, I am no longer bothered with that problem. Best wishes to you! :)

I am lucky to always find the whole nutmeg in any local grocery. I usually store it in the fridge. But I guess I can just put it in the cupboard
