This was an excellent video. I was informed that I didn't need a signal mirror, in a camping store. I was glad to see you had one, so I don't feel foolish. I think you have to have one or more means to signal for help. The rifle was awesome, I took your advise some time ago. I'm was bad with a rifle. You suggested to start with a 22. I always take a pistol, but in the back country, I take the rifle. The advise in video was great. Always happy to Alley again too. She seems to be doing well

That cold steel leatherneck reminds me of my Ka-Bar. I've had it since 1987 and it's field dressed deer, rabbits, squirrels, pheasants, quail, turkey, chopped wood, cut rope, hammered tent stakes, and traveled all over the US, Central and South America.....and keeps on ticking. I had to replace the leather sheath back in 2002 but that's been about it. As usual, great vid and reviews NutN!
@nutnfancy9 жыл бұрын
Thanks dude and I totally agree. I am a big fan of the KA BAR, just a great knife. You are correct the leatherneck is just like it just for flat ground in this particular version. I can be happy with either one. It sounds like your knife has history!

I know who the hell has time to watch these as most of us have lives that are busy from dawn to dusk, but instead of watching his normal reviews which are long winded (if I'm buying the reviewed item I want to see it in action first so thanks for the dedication you put in every review) I clicked on part 1 of this series and I just couldn't stop watching it, I spent a good part of my sleeping time last night finishing all 4 start to finish, wow! I didn't think I could respect him anymore but I was wrong, am I a fan boy Nutn can't do anything wrong, hell no, lots of the time I agree with his assessment and other times I love what weapon he's not impressed with, the point is I truly value his opinion because he gets his ass out there and runs the systems in real use scenarios and not just a table-top review based on how many things you don't like just from holding the gun, knive, or gear. Maybe off the track here but when I was a kid and Jeremiah Johnson came on it was like being at church, my dad would release me from what ever chores I was on and we sat down and just enjoyed the, the, for the lack of a better word it was almost spiritual, it taught me nothing teaches you like real life experience, when someone with those lifetime experiences speaks you damn well better be listening! Anyway I'm sure Nutn doesn't have time to read the comments but just in case, I respect your service to your country, your respect for nature, your tell-it-like-it-is no sugar coated gun & gear reviews beholden to no sponsor, you took me from amateur status to a hardcore TNPr, keep up all the good work and yes bud, there's guys out here listening and learning and I hope to meet you some day, not star-struck but just shake your hand and let you know that your a voice of wisdom in a world where that is sadly scarce, thanks Nutn.

One of the best money can buy. Love the discussion and layout of all the pack items. Those boots gotta go man. One thing I give ya A+++ on is ya brought Alley? after her surgery. Good on YOU SIR!

The still of you & Allie is freaking cool. Great Time management, you worked ALOT of testing into this trip. Now I want a Marlin papoose... my first rifle was/is a Marlin Bolt Action. For some reason my Dad won't mail it to me... hmmm.I guess a 2,000 mile drive to pick it up one of these days.

I love how nutn says that batoning through dry wood is normal work for a survival blade and CS should support it 100% I just bought a cold steel SK5 for 297.00 Canadian and i agree, It troubles me to here people say cold steel is crap and in a survival situation i would hope with the little bit of outdoor Knowledge that it would back me up (nutnfancy project supporter) Chris

Great adventure.. but honestly.. I kinda miss the hiking in part.. I know it's a lot of work. =\ I bought myself an external frame backpack and I've taken it out on a day hike. I want to know how you get such a loaded pack on your back? LOL I had a mother of time getting it up and my arms into the shoulder straps. In regards to the Kukri having trouble splitting wood, I prefer the Kukri machete from Cold Steel. No blade bend to worry about, and it provides a nice length and shape to drive it through the wood. BTW, love this series.
@anonvigil62811 жыл бұрын
I've never had to split logs to make a fire in the woods. There is always a variety of branch and tree sizes and plenty of kindling. Once you get a fire going you can just lay large dead trees on the fire and let the fire do all the "cutting" work.
