Of the diseases that can affect how we age, malnutrition is not an obvious one. However, researchers say more and more older adults are malnourished, including people who may look healthy or who may even be overweight. The documentary "Nutrition and Aging" examines the hidden epidemic of malnutrition and under-nutrition among older adults in the United States. National reports consistently show that Tennessee is among the worst states when it comes to percentage of adults age 60 and older who face the threat of hunger or lack access to quality food, what is known as “food insecurity.” Aging presents other challenges to maintaining a balanced diet, including changes to how bodies process foods and nutrients, how our digestive system works, and how foods taste. Some older people develop difficulty swallowing; others are not able to shop for or prepare meals, while others find the cost of groceries to be a deterrent. The result of these numerous factors is that one in four older adults has some form of malnutrition.

What scares me most is when I become a Senior and do not have enough money saved up to retire. I don't want to work my entire life, but the way how things are going, I may not have a choice. I'm 37 years old right now and life is not easy.

I feel very lucky. My daughter brings me groceries sometimes, when necessary. I reimburse her,of course, l live alone, but in a senior's residence, not having contact with the other residents, due to an injury that confines me to my small room. Loneliness, l think is the worst thing about aging, for a lot of people.

In certain areas it's not just the grocery stores that fail to sell healthy foods. The surrounding places to eat are also non healthy. There's fast food at every corner and in between and they all sell the same junk food. I've also noticed that all of them just slap the ingredients into the sandwish; bacon goes one way, egg another way and the buns usually soggy from all the sauce also just squirted on. So disgusting. Who's got time to cook with some people having to have 2 or more jobs. God help us.

Nutrition plays a huge role in staying healthy and staying in shape. Our bodies are nourished with whatever we eat and drink, and with the different changes we experience as we age, being mindful with what we put in our bodies is really crucial to live longer and stronger. This video is amazing as it talks about the different challenges that come with aging and nutrition. Thank you for shedding light into how important nutrition is in relation to a healthy life. The underlying challenges that come with nutrition, like what diet is best for you, as we age may be daunting, but this is why we also thank Reviving Mind's health and wellness coaches for helping people our age to live their best lives stronger and healthier.

People should eat nothing but meals on wheels for a week and understand what the elderly and infirm really go through. It's disgusting and hardly enough. For many it's their only hot meal every day

Think that it's not the food we eat it's how active we are in our daily lives and measure how many times we just sit down for

Human body can talk to you, it gives you signs, notification & even warnings, so the way that body informs you of the unwanted condition that is going through is by the feeling of pain, God has designed human body in a way that it can be damaged in many ways and thus create pains, severe pains, shocks, and even total shut off (eternal sleep). So, the body enemies can be: bad, dangerous & high risks behaviors such as, wrong & ungodly way of living which means if you do not fear God , you may make lots of mistakes in life that could damage your body beyond repair, because every mistakes in life affects your body and the length of your life (pains & shorter life). Now over eating, everything eating, everything drinking, everything injecting, meat & eggs eating, animal eating, & every bad things doings can destroy human body beyond hope & repair. I believe that keeping your body light by a vegetarian, fruits, nuts, cereals, grains and tree foods, can help the body to live a long, healthy life with as less pains & problems as possible, of course you have to also live a godly life too, to make a long story short, God & gods can give you the science & knowledge of a very long, healthy & happy life. That's all for today. May God be on your side. Thanks & nice day
