Hi! Can't wait for the rest of these episodes! TOPIC SUGGESTION: Eating for liver health (specifically NAFLD - non alchoholic fatty liver disease). If the liver is compromised, how to eat? Low fat is a must, but what sweeteners are there that will not cause fat buildup in the liver? Gluten free? And how to contribute to adequate bile production? Is it possible to reverse NAFLD even when the cause of it is not lifestyle related? Is it even established that NAFLD is lifestyle related?
@remon5633 жыл бұрын
TUDCA, although it is hard to get and controversial. Fasting works to regenerate the liver. Ketogenic diet helps immensily but only when done properly implementing a ton of greens. The liver needs adequate protein to regerenate. What it does not need is carbs and sugars. Some supplements that can help: - milk thistle - bile salts - apple cider vinnegar - magnesium, potassium, zinc Good luck my friend! you can heal.

I have M.E. - I've often noted that I actually feel 'better' when I have a regular illness like mild flu. I put it down to M.E. currently looking like an auto-immune disease. Give my immune system a real job to do for a while. There are suggestions somewhere or other that autism is an auto-immune disease too.

As an autistic adult, please read Neurotribes by Steve Silberman before posting more videos about autism. It's a good primer on the history of autism and can help you to understand that it is not a disease to be cured; many of the coexisting traits and health problems are what we would like to have treated.
@mrglibb7 жыл бұрын
Pretty sure Christine is implying that autism shouldn't be cured, not that it can't. Which is pretty dumb, making a cure, or even just treatment, available would improve a hell of a lot of people's lives, mine included.
@rhyothemisprinceps16177 жыл бұрын
I don't know, as I've improved somewhat I kind of miss the days when I was completely oblivious to things like bullying and harassment. But I don't miss all my aches and pains and gastrointestinal mess.
@tamcon727 жыл бұрын
With respect, this research shows that because the traits do reverse organically under neurological duress, it is analogous to a disease that can be cured or ameliorated, at least in some cases. Those who have severely diminished quality of life, or severely diminished quality of life potential due to autism traits at the severe end should surely have the option to eliminate traits that aren't optimal.
@johndeacon63087 жыл бұрын
Really glad someone's posted this, so thanks Christine. I have an autistic friend who likes being autistic, considers it part of his identity, and detests the idea of this being changed by medicine or diet or anything else. I suspect a lot of autistic people share this view and it is vital to acknowledge that before discussing autism from a biomedical perspective.
@johndeacon63087 жыл бұрын
tamcon72, something being changeable does not make it analogous to disease. Sobriety is changeable. If someone is autistic and wishes to change then this is a very helpful line of research, but if someone does not wish to change that also needs to be respected.

Killer 99, It's not just meat vs plants. It takes a while to figure out which foods are causing the problem. Some foods even have a delayed effect or an effect that can last for days. Myself, I have to avoid all beans,peas, dairy, soy and a few others. Despite everyone stating how healthy beans are, my own body disagrees. I've been off ofl stomach meds for years, but I have to always be aware of what i eat and avoid some of the "healthy" foods. Without beans I eventually added back some small sources of meat and physically feel better. Good luck.

@MrMWelter7 жыл бұрын
There are some other options which can cause leaky gut by destroying gut flora or gut-barrier as well. Not so sure about the sources anymore but you might have a look into these: dishwashing liquid remains, detergents remains, artificial sweeteners, gluten for some and last but not least stress (eventhough I think it is more of a multiplier). Good luck on your road to recovery.

I cured my daughter of autism when she was 6 to 9 months old. I used loved therapy that I had found in an old Science of Mind magazine. She was either born with it or got it from the torture she received for the first 6 weeks of her life while they healed her of her rotting intestines due to being born 2 months early. I worked with her for over 3 months. I expected her to gradually get better, but instead it was instant. She went from screaming when anyone was in the same rooms she was in, to possessing me, clinging to me, and not letting me out of her sight. It did take another 5 years for her to gradually, fully come out of it. Even now, years later, I can see at times little quirks in her personality reminiscence of her autism days.

this might explain the "retrovirus" theory by Dr. Klinghardt. Combined with MHTFR/methylation problems it could explain allot. Also, many viruses and bacteria like Lyme has been found in autistic people. It might be that the fever kills some of these pathogens.

I mean no offense, but I think the effects are more pronounced in those with severe symptoms, not on the mild end of the spectrum where one is high functioning. I would love it if everybody could see dietary benefits, and was a bit worried that autististic viewers would be insulted at its being referred to as a "disease." Glad that isn't the case, judging by comments.
@supersilverhazeroker7 жыл бұрын
it's not a dissease but a disorder.. i'm definitely not at the end of the spectrum where you need 24hour surveilance/care etc, but it would be great if i could get rid of it by eating a bunch of brocolli.. i've lived in social isolation (for as far as you can call it that) for too long. as a human being to some extent i need/crave social contact etc. but in reality it's hell. All the compulsions all day are annoying enough, but the way my brain handles social contact is hell.
@tamcon727 жыл бұрын
*+supersilverhazeroker* I am not on the spectrum, but I hear you. I know from so many hf autistic people that the social difficulties are amongst the worst, partly because it's like the last barrier separating them from seeming normal, in the sense of, able to participate fully. How frustrating it must be to be aware of this but unable to rectify it, I can't imagine. Please try to focus on your successes; as happens so often, communicating with others "virtually" is easier : )

Vegetables from the brassica family; the doc did a video citing research that broccoli micro greens are the most potent source. As with adding a source of pepperine to turmeric to make the turmeric more bio-available, it helps to eat brassicas with mustard to increase the uptake of sulforaphane.

My jaw just kept dropping and dropping. Autism isn't a disease; it's a neurotype, and one that's really awesome and valuable and useful, even if it's not well accommodated by our culture or our built environment. It's not damage; it's not disease; someone who is more easily able to pass as allistic has not "gotten better." I have autistic friends, loved ones, and colleagues, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with their brains. They don't need broccoli; they need people to accept that the world is full of a rich and diverse range of bodies and minds, and to quit trying to break people who don't fit into the narrow range that's been deemed acceptable.

Maybe you are happy and okay with being autistic but not everyone experiences autism the same. There is science coming out showing the link between the gut & the brain, gene expression etc. so to say it's just a nuerotype and leave it at that is obviously misinformed. I want to believe I can at least reduce the severity of my symptoms & people who have this sunny view of autism as a gift do nothing to help people like me and many others who don't like being disabled. Belief that autistic people should be treated with respect & that autism is maybe not an immutable disorder aren't mutually exclusive cuz here I am believing both.

Basically, it is a knowledge about human health that dates back to around 5,000 BCE. According to ayurveda, milk provides special and unique nutrition that cannot be derived from any other type of food. What do you think about it? I would love to know your opinion.

But a lot of people with Autism also have epilepsy and the symptoms of epilepsy benefit from cooling the brain. EDIT: I eat massive amounts of broccoli, and my brain is still very much Autistic, which I wouldn't change for the world!

Vegan Lake, eat other cruciferous vegetables as well, not just broccoli. Also curcumin+piperine helps with synaptic pruning (autophagy) in us autists, which is a little more permanent than this fever science.
