Whole oat groats are awesome, and the least processed in the oat world. In the evening, just measure, 1/2 cup per serving, usually. Place in a wide mouthed thermos and top with hot water right out of the tea kettle. Ready and hot in the morning. No cooking needed. So chewey and yummy with (I like) blueberries and pineapple. Consumers choice.

A bicycle is great exercise for older adults. Bicycles, ebikes, electric cargo bicycles, robo taxis and escooters are great options for last mile, short distance travel. Reduced transportation costs and fossil fuels free transportation. Cities need to do more to encourage people to ride bicycles by providing SAFE, PROTECTED BIKE LANES and trails. Every adult and child should own a bicycle and ride it regularly. Bicycles are healthy exercise and fossil fuels free transportation. Electric bicycles are bringing many older adults back to cycling. Ride to work, ride to school, ride for health or ride for fun. Children should be able to ride a bicycle to school without having to dodge cars and trucks. Separated and protected bike lanes are required. It will also make the roads safer for automobile drivers. Transportation planners and elected officials need to encourage people to walk, bike and take public transportation. Healthy exercise and fossil fuels free transportation. In the future cities will be redesigned for people not cars. Crazy big parking lots will be transformed with solar canopies generating free energy from the sun.

I don’t know how I would get more protein without powders. I can only eat so much in a day
@Joseph1NJ Жыл бұрын
What makes you think you're protein deficient? Dr Chris Gardner, director of nutrition studies at the Stanford Prevention Research Center and the Rehnborg Farquhar Professor of Medicine at Stanford University, (yeah, pretty well credentialed) says as long as you're not in an energy deficit, you can't be protein deficient. Now if you're an athlete, especially a weight training athlete, the 'optimal' protein intake would be only .7g/lb of body weight. Some say even less. For the rest of us, protein really isn't that big a concern. If you're trying to preserve muscle, bone, and prevent sarcopenia and osteopenia, well, the best way to do that is with resistance exercise. If you're in a caloric deficit trying to lose fat and want to preserve muscle, just eat more high protein foods like tempeh, tofu, legumes, and maybe try a vegan yogurt.
@iChefTheImpossible Жыл бұрын
@@Joseph1NJ I never meant to mean I am deficient. I should have clarified, just from my weight training and athletic endeavours. I am in the super heavyweight division (6’4/194 115kg/255)and even taking in lean body mass I only have so much volume to fit in my belly. It doesn’t help that protein is more satiating as well. I don’t have all day to eat and digest, powders are definitely a great convenience.

Dr. Gregor, I think you were a little too dismissive of the question about wegovy. Come on, the food environment is so toxic, eating a few "GLP like foods" will not have the same effect as the Wegovy treatment. I think it would have been more helpful if you provided them advice about what diet to do on the medication instead of just dismissing it, when semaglutide has the potential to solve the obseity epidemic.
