Are there any other health-releated advantages from blood donation? 9:02 Are prunes or dates high in polyphenol oxidase (PPO) like bananas? Any other fruits or just bananas to worry about? 10:05 Does B12 definciency cause intense sugar and salt cravings? 10:32 I had intense sugar and salt cravings then my doctor put me on statins and they went away. Now that I'm off statins, the cravings are back. What explains that? 11:00 Have you looked at research on therapeutic use of psychedelics? 12:05 My LDL and total cholesterol remain high in spite of being WFPB for 8+ years. I have a family history of cardiac disease. What else can I do? 14:50 Are 90 grams of nuts and seeds (~3.20 oz) per day too much? As you don't show graphs or anything else that people may want to look at, I have potential solutions for the seasick people so you can still walk on your treadmill while answering these questions: 1. Don't watch it! Just listen to it. 2. If you need to read the questions, scroll up until only the questions are showing. Can't be keeping the good doctor from his exercise! 😁

I knew a pt therapist that was selling blue green algea as a multilevel suppliment. My answer to his solicitation was " you mean the stuff that kills your dog at the lake? I will pass"
@oskariKN25
@oskariKN25 5 ай бұрын
...cacao? Coffee? Allium plants like onion and garlic too?? You eat none of those because your dog dies if he eats them? You base what you eat based on your dog...? Also another bit of common knowledge that was lost to you in the developmental years of your life, there are strains and multiple species of plants belonging to the same family that differ in their properties, there are blue algae that are not toxic, tomatoes, bell peppers and eggplants are nightshades, a plant family known for its certain wild species known to be poisonous, this also includes cannabis. Please in the future determine what you eat based on human physiology. Comments always have such oddballs in them...

Dr. Greger, I would love to find out more about healing from Microscopic Colitis as I and 2 siblings all suffer from it. It seems as though most beans and lentils trigger flares for us as do onion, cabbage & broccoli 😥 . (Weirdly chickpeas and navy beans seem safe as do red lentils, curious about the science behind that; will probably never know!)

So if there are indeed health advantages to blood donation, does that mean there was actually some merit to medieval blood-letting?
@oskariKN25
@oskariKN25 5 ай бұрын
A time when a cough could kill you and the most crucial time to not lose blood and thus white blood cells... Can't say the benefits outweighed the problems. Im quite sure medieval people had more health problems than just slightly high ferritin levels.

@lawrence4999
@lawrence4999 5 ай бұрын
Dr. Greger said they are not as effective (in this video and I think the previous or 2nd previous live Q&A). the reason is that you are more likely to drink some fine particles of the ground coffee

The person who said that statins affected their cravings, set off an alarm because statins suppress metabolic function through the mitochondria/CoQ10, in addition to suppressing cholesterol production. I have suggested a natural non-stimulant metabolic based supplement, derived from wheat germ and multiple people who have taken this to my knowledge, have had a significant increase in hunger because metabolic function at the very least will alter hunger craving

Tofu, soy milk, edamame are all healthy and help block estrogen receptors in the body which reduces reproductive cancer risk. As a uterine cancer survivor I eat minimally processed soy daily, 30g freshly ground flax seed, green tea, and berries. Highly processed soy foods like fake meat doesn't seem to have the same benefits.
