Fantastic video. Lots of info without being overwhelming. I love that you covered food plus advantages to the garden. And that you even mentioned the look-alike and how to differentiate between the two. Thank you so much for this great video.

I just realized I have some growing in a bucket I use for growing garden plants.!! I have NO idea how this plant got into the bucket. I do not see any of this plant growing any other place on my property. And I have never bought any of it either. I am confused as to how I got this... But I am SO so very thankful for it...!!!

Great info but I’m still nervous re. identifying it. I have Floratam grass & always get dollar weed, and another deep root spreader but it’s def. not Purslane. I may have to purchase a plant to visually see close up then be on the watch for “the weed”🙂TY!

Hi! I have a question You are saying the wild ones have a yellow flower...I've never grow them but they've popped up in my garden right beside that awful spurge and mine have hot pink flowers? I used the picture this app and it says it's common purslane but the flowers weren't bloomed when I tried to indentify and now some flowers have bloomed and they are a hot pink color. Just want to make sure those are ok took but if they are hybrids I don't know how they came up there.

It seems that when the hybridized purslane drops seeds, the offspring are the wild purslane with the smaller flowers. Do you find this to be frequently the case?

I have nibbled on the leaves of the flowering plants with no problems. I haven't grown enough to be willing to harvest a whole meals' worth, though.

CAN I EAT THE FLOWERS TOO? I WANTED IF SOMEONE CAN TELL ME LIKE THE NAME OF THE PLANT THAT IS SIMILAR AND POISONOUS
@akinpaws3 жыл бұрын
She said the name; spurge. It has hairy stems and milky sap. Google pictures of spurge and purslane to learn the difference.
