Great Mill Tour. We use to Custom saw nail logs form a big mill in our area. Their bands use to be $1,500 each. Pretty expensive to hit nails. We could saw a semi load of nail logs for less than $1,500 with our blades.

This brings back memories of the time I worked in a mill like this but not as modern as this ours carriage and log turner was run by steam and everything else was electric. I worked as a fireman in the boiler room making steam to keep the mill and dry Kiln running. Glad to see you up and moving.

In the 60s remember a local hardwood sawmill putting a debarker like that. The 07:00 noise from 3 miles awat was My alarm clock during Mu high school years. I think I may be the last emplyee of that mill left. The mill was shut down in the late 80s and sold offto a scrap dealer which set it on fire so He could get to metal easier. It was the Draper bobbin corperation built a 3 story building in 1948 the year I was born. in Tupper Lake,ny.You can google company history.

The mill that I saw at in Ontario. We saw cottonwood poplar willow balm basswood tulip Manitoba maple and aspen. It all goes in the same pile. Just the high grade aspen and basswood is pulled but other than that it’s all piled together

Hello Nuts; Good to see you up and moving around. It took me 8 months just to be up and walking again. I wonder why they don't check for metal before they debark them or did I miss something? Keep the faith brother.

Nice!! Another awesome mill! I was having trouble hearing Vernon. Did he say he welded all the metal in the raised floor and catwalks? Was he involved with design/set-up of this mill? I liked how it is raised up versus having all the dust in a pit. Clean up and maintenance would super easy I would think!👍👍

I welded on this Mill for 2 years during its construction, We had 3 welders and 2 fabricators , I welded most of the Catwalks , Pans ,Drop Toughs , Ladders , Live Decks , A lot of the green Chain , Substructures , I think I welded on every part of this Mill , I didnt design it , There was a blueprint that We went by , The reason its its up so high is for easy cleanup and maintence
