Greenland is very much modern, so there is so many different jobs. Like IT, contractors, child care, teaching, musicians, bartenders, so many different jobs are out there. I am born and raised here, and my family is from here since for ever, and ofcause I have few ancestry from europe but it only few. All in all I am from Greenland :)

Thank you SO MUCH for this video! Greenland was a "black hole" in my geography knowledge, few years ago I didn't even know its populated! But tonight I had a dream that I lived in Greenland, it was very good dream, I remember being happy, calm and having good friends. So after I woke up I started looking for Greenland on the Internet. Now I know that this is BEAUTIFUL place to live. I'd like to visit it. Greetings from Poland!

Very different to when I lived there 1967 to 1969. I was actually driving TAXA there for a short while, but very few and small roads then and also worked at "Oles Varehus"

This video is awesome. I've been secretly obsessed with Greenland for awhile now and I want to go to Nuuk just to say I did. Plus I have a sneaking suspicion it's the closest I will ever get to the North Pole. And also, the midnight sun is very fascinating. And the aurora borealis... It seems like a really cool place by the looks of this video. Well done!

I just had to come back to watch your videos again. They all are so good. The only bad thing is the climate. Burrrrrrrrr. The winters must be so long. What does one do to stay cheery when it is dark for so long. Do you sit under a sun lamp? Not taking away from that the country is so beautiful. The people seem so friendly and warm. Temperature cold, hearts warm.

@lunde4life Hey thanks for the comment. There are many runners year around, but it hard to ride a bicycle during the winter, because the tractor snow thrower doesn't clear the snow on the side walk, and its easier to walk in the winter. We have a bad winter this year, we have not snow like we use to have. We can feel the global warming here in Greenland. You may also noticed that we have many cars here in Nuuk, but the coast does not have that many cars its only in Nuuk that we have so many cars

What language does the majority speak in Nuuk? I know there is Danish, English, and Greenlandic, but what do people in Nuuk mainly speak? Very good video by the way! I have watched it several times now.

Many of us speak english, so I bet you will find some friends if you talk to the people. Greenlanders has tendency to not talk to the visitors unless they take initiative to talk to lokal people. :-) If you like to see the snow, I recommend that you come in January month, or at fall october mybe(but the weather is not perfect, there will be rain and snow), or you can come in Marts/April, it very beautyfull and there is now, and not too cold, perfect to ski, and snowmobile..

For me its normal, cause I am born and raised here.. It is more depressing for me and my boyfriend when we visit other placed where they gets dark every night, here in Greenland during the wither, we dont have much sunlight, but in the summer we have 24 h a dag of sun :-) I like living here and I will not move to other countries. I love this place so so much and with all my heart. :-)

@isabelpantoja71 There are side walks but not every part of the road. In other cities there are no sidewalks. and there are fewer cars so it means not much traffic. In Uummannaq there can go up to an hour before the car passby. :)

I don't know where you from so it a bit hard to compair. We get stuff world wide.. We have sea food factories, and the product we have is the best kind in the word, so pure and clean and they are not from fish tank :) Greenland is part of Denmark so we have same opportunity like the danish people. There is flight from Greenland to Denmark couple times a week. We speak Greelandic, Danish, english. We learn also the language we want to learn, I speak a little bit french.
