Thanks team, loved your effort in promoting tourism of Nuwakot. There are still so many things that Nuwakot can offer. Nuwakot has Devighat, Dupcheshwor, Bagh bhairabi & so many other mystical temples, So many unexplored hiking and trekking routes, Two amazing & sacred rivers Trishuli and Tadi which is very much suitable for so many river activities like Rafting, canoe or kayak trip. Nuwakot is only of two districts of Nepal which is connected with two national parks (Langtang national park & shivapuri Nagarjun national park). Trishuli Bazar has a unique unity between Buddhist,Hindu & Muslim. You can see Masjid, Gumba & Temple at a Same place. This is a perfect example of religious harmony to show the world. Jay Nuwakote 🥰

Thank you for the amazing info. Indeed it is sad that we could only focus on the history and the renovation aspect of Nuwakot as we are trying to aware the country about the huge risk of loss of heritage that we are facing. Your information is highly appreciated!

Literally it gave me goosebumps from beginning to end i feel so sad for such condition of a historic place Everyone wants holiday on prithivi jayanti and what people do is just relax on the sofa and watch people putting tika and garland on the STATUE of PRITHIVI NARAYAN SHAH No one ever visit these historic place from where the UNIFICATION started if the concerned department is not serious about these historic place no doubt we will only be able to see these places in photographs and if this place is not maintained in time then this durbar will demolish in next 1/2 years

I have never been to nuwacot However there is some ansetral history behind this place. Which is related to prithivi Narayan Saha. My family were known as nuwacoat rimal. This is mainly because of the unification process. Prithivi Narayan Saha had previously lost two campaign to defeat nuwacoat. One when he was in charge and other when his father was in charge. Nuwacoat was more wealthier than gorkha. The trade with Tibet was very good (this is also the same trade road Tibet and qing took to attack Nepal afterwards), the trade point with Tibet and it location near Kathmandu made nuwacoat a very strategic and wealthier kingdome. It army was much stronger and it was an uphill conquest with river trisuli in side which was always in full force. Prithivi Narayan Saha required nuwacoat. He asked my ansestor (rimal) about the battle strategy to obtain nuwacoat. My ansestor told him victory in nuwacoat can only be obtained at this specific time when the river tirsuli become silent (probably due to moon and it affect on the water speed). The guard in nuwacoat never imagined an enemy will Arive from the river. It was also a time when most of the citizen where in their home. ( Time has shown when citizen of Nepal have faught the invaders so not just the army but also the people of nuwacoat would have been an obstacle). The gorkha unit quietly crossed the river and went undetected. This is how they had a slight advantage despite being low in number. The citizen and the soilder where less prepared without armour or equipment it was more of a decessivee victory. Which also could be reason that less lives where likely lost as there where not many battle that was needed compare to other unification period, Gorkha troop didn't get kingdome by kingdome with one swoop. Some faught 17 time and some where prithivi Narayan Saha was even captured. We all think unification must have been easy if the kingdome of Nepal could fall so easily we would have been fallen when invader such as British, Mughal , qing, tiebt and even other Indian kingdome attack nepali kingdome. Each one of the nepali kingdome were arguably equal to one another. Because of my family provision of strategy we where known as nuwacoat Nepal. This is just one of the connection I know of, and I am sure every family has some sort of contribution to shaping Nepal. From farmer who provided the food to the mothers who became our first teacher.
