The output on my Cerberus Overdrive Distortion module cuts out when ever I engage the overdrive or distortion buttons. When I disengage the distortion/overdrive buttons a clean signal is heard. Engage the distortion button again and no sound despite all the levels on the distortion being up. This makes it impossible for me to use the four cable method with my other pedals or an amp If I want to use the Cerberus distortion. Is there something I'm doing wrong? I want to put a boss tremolo pedal between the Cerberus DS/OD and the Cerberus reverb. But I cant get any signal because as soon as I engage the distortion or distortion it cuts off the signal coming out of the distortion module. It doesn't make any sense why and I want to run the Cerberus distortion through my boss tremolo pedal and back into the modulation part of the Cerberus. Can any one help me make this happen?

Can somebody just tell me about the boost option on the back which adds up to 20 DB of "clean" boost.....................Does that mean you can assign it to the bottom bank switch, and activate it say during a solo to make you louder?? If so that would be awesome! All in one pedal! Anybody can explain though please! thanks!
@Zankitophat6 жыл бұрын
yea, means exactly that, however i find the boost a bit overpowering even at lowest level when distortion is on, when clean boost works great

So from a 4CM perspective, would this be a viable alternative to a POD HD500x. I’m running a Laney Ironheart that I’m looking to add some basic effects to. I don’t really need the distortion on the unit but I’d use the overdrive.
@hoschie22614 жыл бұрын
No problems with hum in 4CM?
@danyeo7 жыл бұрын
Does this allow modulation to be run into the amp input? Modulation imho should not be run in effects loops. Nobody and I mean nobody, would stick a phase 90 into an effects loop.
@taurushamilton2739 Жыл бұрын
U don’t have to use 4 CM w this unit. It sounds awesome going str8 into an amp. 🤘🏾 it’s a great piece of gear. Soon I will stick a preamp pedal at the end and go FOH. It sounds great on recordings, live. Nux 4 the win!👍🏾🤘🏾

Jon Faulkner yes. If you use an expression pedal (via expression in) it will automatically be placed between the drive section and the delay/mod section.

@Brett Kingman Between this and the Mooer Red Truck what will you choose for a grab and go pedalboard an,d by adding 2 or 3 pedals (compressor, big muff) a Gilmour inspired pedalboard ?
@mattgilbert7347 Жыл бұрын
This was my go-to Gilmour board for years, with 3 or 4 extra pedals similar to your ideas. 4 years on I'd still use it, but having the phaser and vibe after gain is not my preference.
@taurushamilton273911 ай бұрын
@@mattgilbert7347 I put the Nux Plexi Crunch post Cerberus to get my modulation from the cerberus pre Plexi, woks fabulous! Also adding a 2 button footswitch allows me to utilize the reverb and volume boost access from the 2button and I use the CNTRL button on Cerberus for independent Chorus access, Although you can finagle some really cool tones with both the chorus and phaser on at the same time. I've got a really cool mod effect with both of those that sounds totally unique when using the drive /dist pre mod section, kind of like a whirling rotary chewy tone very satisfying and totally different than any standars mod. I, like you prefer my modulation effects before my drives, distortions. I made a 90% Nux pedalboard w Cerberus, Steel Singer, Modcore(pre Cerberus) JTC drum and looper, and Plexi Crunch. Nux is really killing the game right now, I love all the pedals that I have tried from them!
@MortandHarley3 жыл бұрын
Great demo, but....it's very bright almost brittle. You might want to drop the highs on your amp or the pedal. It's missing a warm rich sound. Sounds like you are playing a comb with wax paper over it.....
@mattgilbert7347 Жыл бұрын
Something about the Cerberus does this. I had an EQ and preamp in the loop, and a compressor and RC Booster up front set up to take out those brittle highs and add some lower mids.

Why should one choose this over the BOSS ME-80?
@jurepecnik90546 жыл бұрын
because every kid owns a big Boss pedal with too much knobs(trying to look cool) and this one looks just the vintage king of sexy with simplicity :) only thing it lacks (from ME80) is expresion pedal...
@joedabron48465 жыл бұрын
In my experience Vanessa the drive options of the ME80 (ie OD and ‘amp’) didn’t stack well, they didn’t interact like two ‘overdrives’ should going into each other. So it didn’t REALLY act like a pedalboard in the manual setting and I ended up getting rid of it for that reason. I‘m hoping the Nux would do this better - sounds like it would.

obviously awesome multi- effects but which do you like best the MOOER Red Truck or the NUX Cerberus and which would you prefer for live gigging? if you could only have one of course also like most of us I am a broke guitar player so what is affordable alternative to the Fractal Axe Fx,, AX8 or Helix any suggestions ?
@kenmasters0077 жыл бұрын
a used pod HD would be the best bang for the buck if you also want/need amp emulation. These combo pedal boards are just pedals and FX only. Mooer is $50 cheaper doesn't have IR Cab sim, can't switch the order of the FX and drive/OD. If that matters.... Live gigs.. just use the pedals that you need. These combos are more geared towards bedroom players and non professionals.

Hey Brett, I tried this unit using the 4CM but it was very noisy going through my tube amp. I returned it but am considering trying it again since you make it sound amazing! Did you notice any excessive noise/static using the 4CM? And just to be on same page the 4CM is guitar ---> NUX input....NUX 1st output--->amp input... modulation out--->amp return...amp send---> modulation in
@BrettKingman6 жыл бұрын
It's been nearly two years since I had this unit, Carlos. But I can't recall any excessive noise and I rarely use noise gates in my post production. So, no, I don't think there was any bad noise going on with my unit. Also, whatever the manual says with regards to the 4CM cabling, you should follow. If you have further troubles I would suggest contacting the manufacturer via their website. Cheers, BK.
