This one's cheaper than the zoom G1-Four where I am, and judging from the sound, this seems to be the better deal. Thanks for the demo!

Yes, it’s great! It loads the best IRs we can buy, already comes with excellent factory IRs, and works smoothly as an audio interface. I really like the algorithm that Nux uses in the MG series. I'm preparing more videos for the MG101. I’ve never used factory presets in any multi-effects unit to make a video since I started this channel in 2016. But these sounded so good that I used them; they were already set up. :) New videos coming soon. Thanks for your comment, bro!

@@DirectRecordingGuitar cheers, I found your channel from your "EQ pedal as cab sim/preamp" video, fascinating stuff!
@DirectRecordingGuitar2 ай бұрын
You're very welcome! The purpose of that series of videos I made using the GE-7 adjusted in that way is just to show people that we can use it like that in emergency situations during live shows. Suddenly, an amp might stop working, and if the person doesn't have a simulator in their setup, they can quickly adjust the EQ pedal and save the rest of the performance. But today, we have great options that sound very realistic, like the Nux and its algorithm, for example. Once again, thank you. I'm glad you're enjoying it.

I'm asking because the noise gate on the MG 101 cannot be moved and is always placed at the front. Is it safe for single-coil pickups, and will it not cut too much sustain when playing melodies, either with overdrive or high gain? Thank you.
@DirectRecordingGuitar15 күн бұрын
Hi, even though it uses the same algorithm as the other MGs, which makes it sound great, the simplified features might be because the MG101 is Nux’s new entry-level model, replacing the MG300. But the Noise Gate on the MG101 has worked well for me with both SSS and HH guitars. I believe there will be updates about the MG300-I’ve seen some videos here on KZbin about it. Thanks for your comment man!

@@DirectRecordingGuitar My pleasure! By the way, your content is really great and well-structured! I previously used the Nux MG300 and the Valeton GP100, but I didn’t quite like the sound from the Valeton, and the MG300 felt a bit too big and rigid. I’m interested in the MG101 because I feel it sounds better than the GP100 and is more compact compared to the MG300. Oh, by the way, how about the expression pedal? What functions are available with it? I’ve also seen some reviews of the MG300 Mk2, and from what I’ve noticed, the main difference is the ability to move around the effect modules. But if, based on your experience, having the noise gate at the front isn’t much of an issue, I think the MG101 would be more worth it, and I could save the remaining budget for something else-unless I decide to upgrade to the MG30, for example. What do you think?

Fala Wagner.

Hi, in recent times, the MG30 and MG400 have made significant strides with their latest updates. Nux then released the MG-101 as its entry-level multi-effects processor, replacing the MG-300. @@DirectRecordingGuitar still nux mg 30, 400, and 101 sound diferrent, or am i wrong?
@DirectRecordingGuitar2 ай бұрын
The MG30 has a slightly brighter high-end that we can tweak in the IR section, but all the other MGs sound identical to my ears. The difference lies in the number of features and effects. It's the same excellent algorithm. The MG30 has two processors working together, a robust steel cabinet, up/down controls, CTRL1, and a dual external footswitch for CTRL2 and CTRL3. It has Pro Scenes and all of Nux's effects. You can use 3 drives in the same preset, or 1 drive + two modulations, two stacked delays, etc. The MG400 is made of plastic, but it's still durable. It has 3 Scenes per patch, up/down, CTRL1, and CTRL2 on the cabinet itself, and almost all the same effects as the MG30 except for the Whammy, and only has 1 wah. It doesn't have a send/return like the MG30. I mean, the features and number of effects decrease as you go down to the simpler models, until you reach the MG-101, which has the same algorithm, sounds great, but is more 'lean' and simpler because it's Nux's entry-level model. Still, it's great. I'm already using it quite frequently. I took it to a gig last night to feel it at high volumes with a band, and it was great.

is that IR free where to get it?
@DirectRecordingGuitar3 ай бұрын
Hello, most of the IRs I used are native to the device; they come pre-installed. During the tests, I installed a York Audio one, but this is not free. Look for "Bogna 412 Cab Pack" and you can buy it directly from the York Audio website. I highly recommend it! Everything sounds great with the IRs they make. Thanks for your comment, bro!

Which one is better? Nux mg101 or Mvave black box?
@DirectRecordingGuitar3 ай бұрын
Hello my friend, I don’t know the Black Box, so I can’t give my opinion. As an entry-level unit, I think the MG101 is great. The Nux algorithms sound really good. I installed a 48kHz IR during the test, and in my opinion, it sounded great. We have the Quicktone editor, expression pedal... I’ve been used to the essence of Nux tones since the MG300 was released. In its simplicity as an entry-level unit, it’s clear that it doesn’t have send/return or Pro Scenes like the MG30, but the MG101 represents well and comes with the great sounds possible with its Nux algorithm. Thanks for your comment, bro!

@@DirectRecordingGuitarI'll buy it, but I've noticed that it doesn't have a master volume or volume control.
@DirectRecordingGuitar3 ай бұрын
Knob 2 controls the output levels. It works between -12 and +12dB. I used it at 12 o'clock to record. The 12 o'clock position is equal to 0. We can increase it up to +12dB or decrease it up to -12dB. This works like a Master Volume for the multi-effects. *With knob 1 we can adjust the volume of the headphones separately, without affecting the main volume of the device. :) I like this! I wish it had it on the MG-30.
