One thing that often goes overlooked but that ties all jokes so well is that Luck is literally Kazuma’s highest stat. Casting a RNG spell that gets one random item from someone else’s inventory? You’re getting the best item. Walking around during on a quest? Boom, there’s your objective. You’re an asshole overall? Don’t worry, the only problems you’ll face are the direct consequences of your actions. No one gets mad at Kazuma, he gets away with SO MUCH SHIT, and it’s established in the 1st episode. I love this series

Sure he has a lot of luck, but I dont know about the quality of it, since he used it to make sure a bomb went someplace where it wouldn't hurt anybody, which it did, but it bombed a noble's estate and caused him to be tried for treason.

@@battlesheep2552 There's good reason to believe that if that noble's estate hadn't been bombed at that time he'd have successfully committed regicide and gotten cleanly away with it, and then proceeded to destroy the country as a side note on his grand quest to force Darkness into marriage. Most of the evidence was cleaned up before we could see any (combined with none of the characters we follow being the slightest bit interested in looking for it), but his original plans fell completely apart offscreen at that time. There was quite likely no more useful place for a bomb to go off right then (including where the noble actually was, as killing him at that time would have produced unfortunate consequences that would have hurt Kazuma at several later points).

6:50 don't forget that Megumin is also a mana-drain addict. She doesn't just love the explosion, she loves the feeling of losing all her mana in a single spell. Which is why she never levels her mana enough to fire off two explosions.

@@SentinalSlice Not exactly. Kazuma demanded an explanation for that. When you level up, all your stats increase, including mana. There are some skills, proficiency, that increases certain stats. Like one-handed proficiency skill, life recovery, etc. And Megumin has the highest level of the party. Megumin could easily level up mana proficiencies and not just the Explosion-related ones. But she only levels up mana in case her explosion surpass her current capacity. In other words, she purposely fixed it so Explosion always drains her completely.....

My favorite bit from Konosuba, which I don’t think gets mentioned enough, is when all the characters are in a mansion haunted by possessed dolls but for Kazuma and Megumin the real issue is that they both *really* have to piss. So they’re just running away from the dolls while looking for a bathroom. And then when they finally find one they’re fighting over who gets to piss first while the killer dolls are closing in on them.

I like how they added the konosuba gang to the mobile game for "that time I got reincarnated as a slime" They went into detail with darkness being one of the few characters that not only have the highest health and defense but also she misses a decent amount of her attacks. Not to mention that they have costumes for remiru as megumin and shuna as aqua. There is also the fact that remiru states when he tries to use the explosion magic that he worries for megumin as it takes all his magic to use it once meaning that for a human it should kill them.

42:28 You can tell how much the staff loves the series when they add such little unnecessary details in the episodes. In The Eminence in Shadow, you can see whenever a character is monologuing or talking in a crowded areas the voices of others around them are always audible. Many times detailed or stupid conversations are just happening while Cid is giving his monologue which creates this perfect image of him being a mob as well as give the world a new life many other isekai anime just don't have. The best thing about these details is most of them are anime originals and not included in original novels which makes it kinda enjoyable.

Since this is a relevant spoiler, I also just wanna point out that he doesn't dropkick any other character aside from her in the ln. I guess he never considered anyone else to be deserving of a dropkick (even if we the readers may think otherwise), but the gender ratio of his dropkicks is currently unequal as of the last official work, lol. Also, not including dropkicks, I'm pretty sure he's beaten up more guys than girls. Can't say anything about the Fantastic Days mobile game, b/c I'm only playing the global version, but maybe he evens out the score in the JP version.

I find it funny that the biggest reason he has such a hard time is the he could have wished to bring anything with him (basically anything. Another summoned person brought a legendary heroic sword) and out of spite from being mocked he brought the goddes herself basically dooming himself.

Because a lot of the problems they face in the world was because she was sending whomever died to that world with powerful magic items with no thought given about the type of people she was sending or what they would do with those items. Iris, upon taking Aqua’s place, is often coming into the world in disguise as an adventurer herself as a thief to track down and get those items back because of how many problems it is causing.

Honestly, I would REALLY recommend going and checking out the Light Novel and putting time into reading it. Despite the ending feeling a bit unfinished, with a few loose ends. It was still a great ending. And even then, there's the Konosuba Explosion side story which was animated, which is Megumin's time before meeting the party. This was also adapted from the light novel version of it. There is also a Light Novel set focused around DUST of all people. And with the possibility of IT never being adapted, reading the Light Novels to imagine what could have been, is about as best as we can get for Konosuba content.

Best part, if you've read the light novel, its good all the way through unlike most itsekei. Konosuba stays in its lane and while they can elevate the stakes, the overall comedy stays the same and when you learn about the demon king's elite forces and why they do and don't do what they do, its really funny. Also there is a Dust light novel which explains things from Dust's perspective. (And has a lot of Vanir.) and yeah, Aqua rezzes him at some point. The monster he died to isn't in the anime yet though and wont be for awhile. But lets just say, what you've been looking up might be more on point...

She didn't train her explosion magic to be a once a day thing, she could only ever use explosion once a day since it takes all of her mana/stamina to do it just one time. She saved all of her points in school to buy explosion magic and whenever she gets points to spend she only ever puts it into explosion to make it more powerful. Only being able to use it once a day was an original drawback not from it getting stronger. When it comes to Megumin it is Quality over Quantity. The insane mana cost is why explosion magic is considered a joke spell by everyone in her village, because most people can't use it, or if they can, can only use it an extremely limited amount of times per day. Which doesn't slide with the whole village basically being chuuni and often going WAY overboard to the point they annihilate everything with magic just to show off.

the beauty of kazuma's death is that it does a perfect job showing the nature of the show's subversions and its overall tone. hell, kazuma's intended actions at said moment was also important showing that as shut-in as he is, even HE is capable of heroics when he needs to, risking his life to save someone he thought was in danger. you see the hero underneath the asshole. it allows him to believably be an asshole most of the time but still be able to step up when he HAS to. heck, the final episodes of season 3 highlight this perfectly. kazuma has an opportunity to become filthy rich selling off his ideas and intellectual rights to a businessman, but said amount is simultaneously the exact same amount that at the time would be needed to help save their party member Darkness from a wedding she agreed to in order to pay off the massive debt they owed a noble. and kazuma decides to use said money to save their friend with help from aqua and Megumine, despite the fact this was a financial opportunity that had been building up to achieving since season 1! part of the issue was also that breaking up the wedding risked all three of them becoming wanted fugitives in the eyes of said lord. and while kazuma DID receive the money back by the end of the episode, he didn't know that would be the outcome when he made the decision to sacrifice his financial security for this stubborn crusader. and its made even better by their adventuring acquaintances using their own bullshit methods of helping them get to safety. the lord offers them all a massive reward for stopping kazuma's crew, but they all find some reason (no matter how stupid) NOT to take said job. even better, some offer direct support such as being a distraction.

i let my mum watch the intro to konosuba and she laughed so fuckin hard, i cant wait to show her more konosuba. ive told her a small amount of whats to come like the water purification quest and when darkness gets dragged by carriage. havent told her about the megumin explosions annoying the fuck out of a high ranking enemy, i want her to get the feel for the anime before she watches it so she doesnt feel misled (she is blind so i do have to say what is happening when it comes to animation)

Like I completely despise Konosuba's author's other work, that wresting one, because of the way the MC treated a, rather beautifully designed, princess character because she dared ask him to help fight demonic beasts that are slaughtering her citizens. (This is the first 10 minutes of Episode 1.) Instead of just refusing, he suplexes her! ...Which I thought he killed her! She doesn't reappear for a few manga chapters! There was no "Twitch" or "Groan" or "Stars around her" indicating proof of life!
