The reason he relives his torture until the king leaves is because he is building-up his resistance against poisons they keep feeding him. Furthermore, he’s collecting skills from the people he heals. Ya boi is grinding his way to being the classic Isekai protagonist he always knew he could be.
@numbernumber25

Makes sense, my understanding of what had happened was that he only developed a bit of a resistance to the poisons while in the village in preparation for what will come next. So it was only later on in the prison cell that he finally over came the poisons, although it took a lot less time compared to his previous life.

@@MouseGoat Hvaing read (now most) of the manga, there is not even a story there, its a string of events that just happen to add another name to the checklist so he can heal-exmachina and go to the next name because if he reaches the end of that checklist, whatever vague thing thats there instead of a story grinds to a halt lol
@skycastrum5803
@skycastrum5803 Жыл бұрын
@@jmax6750 Disagree. There are some loose ends (possibly addresses in the LN), but it follows a logical pattern. He’s got his list that he really wants to screw over and steadily progresses through each one, uncovering more of how messed up the kingdom is as he goes. By the end it cuts off from his list to address the larger problem and once that’s done the story is pretty much complete. This actually hurts the show a bit, since it overshadows the whole revenge thing that is the major draw of the series. However, it does wrap things up, which avoids degrading that purpose through sheer repetition. Actually kind of surprised you came to the conclusion you did. There’s not that many people on MC’s “screw over list.” How many did he get to before you decided the show was just going to go on like that endlessly?
@Luigi1000
@Luigi1000 Жыл бұрын
Let me just say that the manga is WAY more graphic and goes into DEEP details both about his abuse at each of their hands as well as the lengths he goes to get his revenge. It was really interesting to see where they decided the line had to be drawn and what could NOT be shown. That all being said, it does calm down (both in action and in ACTION) after this point given the story does get a bit more developed and the world does get more fleshed out. Let me just say that if you saw this and you thought it was rough, you ain't seen anything compared to source material. This is not about good and evil, this is about who is less evil.

This anime was a let down, I thought the guy was supposed to be a psycho, but the people he r*pes are so cartoonishly evil that you have a hard time feeling bad for them, they do everything possible to justify him doing what he does, usually you expect evil people doing terrible thing to innocent people, but it doesn´t work when evil characters kill each other, its like, what did you expect, live by the sword die by the sword.

While it is truly disgusting, this show is also a fascinating look into the mind of the abuser/abused cycle, and how those that are abused are more prone to abuse later in life, as well as developing a number of mental disorders and a general lack of empathy. Plus the action scenes are really well done. The whole harem stuff is just mid at best, and probably more suited to a full on hentai.

And, for clarity, getting that blessing on his eye allowed him to know what all he suffered before the reboot. He still had it echoing in his mind because of how awful it was. He knew he couldn't escape the kingdom when they came for him, and he would be given access to all the kingdom's best people such as their best alchemist, their prized chef, their valued apothecary, etc. Everyone he heals is someone he gains the abilities and experience of, so he let them set him up with all their best assets. He just built his tolerance to drugs first. By the way, the guy left out what Keyarga and Setsuna did to the guards before leaving them in a pit with the bull. He hit the bull with an aphrodisiac...and a guard was the bottom. And, he wasn't pretending when he collapsed after healing Kureha. He simply stayed conscious, but it still hit him like a ton of bricks. He was testing Flare, and he learned that she discarded him from the beginning, something he didn't know before. There was purpose to his actions. They were demented, but there was purpose. He couldn't escape, and part of him couldn't ignore them. Even if it wasn't about revenge, they hurt good people because they can. What decent person ignores that? The hard lesson is that the only good people in that anime are the bystanders who get caught up in the mess.

Few things to clear up. When Keyaru fakes the moments before he enacts his revenge, it's to see if time going back has changed anything, including the heroes personalities, but they still suck. ...Fluids...from a hero increases level caps. That's why he was assaulted and put on drugs. When he changes the guy to a waman, its mostly appearance. He can't change the genitalia. Including himself. The Sword Hero gave up satisfying the men's lust because Keyaru turned into Freya and she couldn't bear Freya seeing her do that (Freya whom she's in love with). The best thing about this show is how the main character's evil actions are tangled with so many self-justifications of, were not for this extremely chaotic and unlikely scenario, the poor guy would've spent his entire life in a humble village where he would most assuredly remain a pacifist, good and innocent individual.

Redo of healer is that kind of anime where you get shocked at its sheer grotesque nature for like the first episode and then you proceed to get really bored by how exactly one note it is. If you ever want to write a dark fantasy with an evil protagonist. You need to not only make the antagonists hatable. You also need to make the protagonist relatable too. The guy needs his slow fall from grace where there are moments of hesitation but then his evil actions get justified again because the people that wronged him keep reminding him and you how irredeemable they are. In this instance. It just shows the weak character of the main character but also the sheer manlet that projects themselves onto this pathetic person. You just know it appeals to useless losers that have held a grudge and fermented it for so long that they've started harbouring psychotic thoughts. It certainly has an audience, but its not compelling enough to also make normal people follow along with the vitriol. There is an art to revenge tales and this series fails at the required nuance.

As someone up to date on the Redo Of Healer manga, it may surprise you when I say it actually get less cursed the further into it you get. Everything after season 1 of the anime is WAAAAY more tame than the stuff before it…actually, it feels very normal. Like the mc actually cares about his party and puts himself in danger for them. Recently I learned something about this show that might put things into a new, interesting context. Don't get me wrong, the show is still awful but... hear me out first. So obviously, as is the case with most anime, Redo of Healer is an adaption of a manga or graphic novel (not entirely sure which to be honest) and there's an interview of the author behind Redo of Healer and... Surprise: the author, Rui Tsukiyo, is a really wholesome, chill and laid back guy who showed up to the interview dressed in a Fursuit (certainly explains the furry girl in Redo of Healer lol). What is the most interesting about the interview is that Rui Tsukiyo said that after he graduated from college, he started working at a japanese big tech company. Now, if you're somebody who knows what Redo of Healer as a whole is like and you also know what Japanese work culture and work environment in big companies is like, you probably just had the same "OMG, it all makes sense now" revelation that I experienced. If you are someone who doesn't know anything about Japanese work culture and work environment in big companies: Long story short, its really bad. Its super toxic, awful, ripe with abuse and no option whatsoever for you to fight back and defend yourself with. Especially if you're a no-name low rank corporate drone. It's not great. As much as I love Japan, and I love it a lot, i'm a huge weeb and I consider it a great country to visit and live, Japan is not a great country to work in. It is quite the opposite of that. Knowing this, this puts an entirely new light on this show. It's still awful and revolting obviously but it also kinda makes you think: What kind of horrible everyday workday abuse did Rui Tsukiyo had to deal with that got him to the point where this otherwise super nice and wholesome guy wrote something as vile and hateful as Redo of Healer? He didn't say it in the interview (or I missed that part) but I believe that Redo of Healer is how he decided to deal with all the abuse and trauma he suffered from working as a no-name corporate drone at a big japanese company. The anime is still revolting and shit but I can't help but feel bad for the guy.

*stares at title* Man, Nux, didn't realize you were that sensitive. In all honesty, I honestly love Redo because it's quite literally just "H[redacted] with a plot", like, with how censored H stuff usually is, it's legitimately barely less explicit than most proper H series are, and I just find it so hilarious that whoever's behind Redo basically just marketed a H series as an "Anime" and people are freaking out over it. I'll be honest, Nux, you really should watch the rest of it. It becomes so much less "torture" and just straight up H content and it's honestly kind of hilarious.

As far as revenge fantasy stories go, Redo of Healer is one of the best. Movies and series like John Wick and The Terminal List are very tame by comparison. The writers on Redo go to almost absurd lengths to portray the "heroes" as irredeemably evil. They make Homelander look like a saint. So It's very hard to have any sympathy for what happens to them.
