It's that rare isekai type, where it's not power fantasy of being a walking god of destruction. Instead, it's the fantasy of being useful and appreciated member of the community. Up until this point of anime he has the kill count of about 2. One exploded from inside, and the other killed by falling on them. Which would probably be two ways one would suggest if they were told to kill someone with a vending machine. Produce harmful stuff or simply drop the heavy metal box on them.

That’s what makes this anime so freaking good! It sounds stupid, but the writing is amazing! He has OP characteristics, but is still severely limited in many ways. Too bad the video skipped the part when Boxxo actually became a condom dispenser~ which should be around 32:07 after the old gambling man got dragged off by his wife. *SPOILERS FOR THE CONDOM DISPENSER PART* Director Bear passed by and asked Boxxo and Lammis for a meeting at HQ to discuss matters on the town's health. Bear asks Lammis to wait outside the meeting office because it was a sensitive topic. From there Director Bear mentioned that when it comes to mating season, humans aren't very orderly and hygiene is compromised. It would be troublesome for a village like theirs to be overpopulating. They had this discussion along with Shirley (the town's brothel owner) who was just as concerned. Hearing this, Boxxo transforms into a condom dispenser and from there Bear and Shirley observed what a condom is from the instructions in the box. Shirley purchased a lot of the product for her brothel~ The idea of the anime on the first glance may be outrageous and compared to others would be thought of as lame, but this isekai is actually very wholesome and entertaining~ It is because the concept is crazy that you'd just want to know how they people making this would make it work~ and the anime is doing just that~

This anime is actually really wholesome and good. The way he maintains agency as a Vending Machine that can't move or really speak is really clever and as the series goes on you really believe a clingy girl like Lammis could really get attached to this Box that is the best listener and can only talk back in yes or no responses to questions she lobs at him at her own pace and interest. Yeah the Metos moment required a lot of luck, but that he even pushed his communication limits to even try getting them to do that was pretty tense and cool.

This show was created after binge watching ProZD's "refrigerator-senpai" series and you can't convince me otherwise!!! Anyway, tbf, even in today's wars (let alone medieval ones) taking with you supplies is huge problem: it's A LOT of space and force you waste by carrying it around, with the added issue that it's an easy large target that might go to waste for the silliest reasons on its own; not to mention that once the food and other stuff are over, the whole expedition/unit gets in BIG trouble. Taking with you a relatively small and light box (so easy to transport and protect) with literally infinite items that can give almost anything you can dream of is possibly the best idea I've heard in the show 😂

Watch the actual series. Lammis makes it clear she does NOT own Boxxo, and yes, Boxxo DOES get his own say regarding if he goes anywhere. He voluntarily goes on missions if Lammis is because he wants to help protect her, but he does have every right to say no and would be respected for that (at least by the ones who don’t want to use him for ill gains).
