I am completely convinced that half the reason we haven't gotten a MGR 2 is because even Platinum Games themselves don't know how they could possibly top Armstrong. Despite literally having no screentime before his boss fight, they manage to fully flesh him out, explore his philosophy and deliver one of the most insane and satisfying final boss battles in gaming.
