Also, Diavolo is the split personality from his childhood. Diavolo has kept Doppio safe from the truth his whole life, and he kept others away from the truth as well. His whole life was keeping the truth away from everyone, to protect Doppio, because if Doppio was attacked and killed in less than 10 seconds, Diavolo wouldn’t have had the time to come out and save himself. As long as he kept who Doppio really was a secret from everyone, he would survive. All he wanted was to survive long enough to rule the world. King Crimson was the power he gained after digging up the arrows in Egypt. Diavolo just tied himself to King Crimson instead of letting Doppio gain the overwhelming power. King Crimson didn’t form Diavolo, Diavolo was there always and took over King Crimson because it would allow him to continue to hide forever. Of course, in the end, Giorno used the arrow to make his stand requiem and defied fate to kill Diavolo for eternity.

@@shirshanyaroy287 no it wasn't bland at all, most generic anime protagonists never have their supporting cast to have more on screen time and character development like part 5. Girno dream to become the mafia boss because he wanted to stop kids using drugs. His ideology you can say is generic, but part 5 wasn't revolving around girno. We got backstory of guys like abbachio, bruno, narancia, fugo, diavalo, doppio, etc. The plot was fluent and we were open to more characters that most jojo fans started loving. Bruno being a savior to those in need, and trying to help manage the area he controls to the best of his abilities. But his delima on finding out the boss selling drugs caused him to have a real issue for himself. Work for the organization even though their selling drugs, or revolt. He died for a cause that he believed was right, basically his self sacrifice lead to the gang changing for the better. In short, part 5 was amazing.

this may be a biiiig stretch, but it may be a bit of a commentary on the italian mindset now, I am italian, and there are good and honest people everywhere, but a thing that I unfortunately had to notice is that, a lot of people really do try to find loopholes for everything, on the biggest or smallest scales. there is a collective "it's no use mentality", where since it feels like the system isn't fair, why should people behave fairly either? (and yes, the system isn't fair: corruption, raccomandations (if you know important people you are more likely to get a position then a more skiled person), way too slow burocracy etc) people just don't seem to have the force of will to behave correctly despite of the odds (not paying the ticket because the bus is slow and no one is going to check anyway, not declaring all of what you earn in order to abuse the government funds, not paying taxes etc) Diavolo, as you described, looks for loopholes and for a way to cheat the system, and that is unfortunately what a lot of italians do (not to the same extent of course, but in the little things) Buccellati too sort of fits, he wanted to "find a comfortable place" in the organization to then do what small good he could while accepting the corrupted system (a lot like how here there is a sort of cult around the "posto fisso", aka a work where your job is basically secured for life) Giorno meanwhile acts like italians SHOULD, despite the corrupt system he does the right thing, but usually people like Giorno are called "not clever", because they're vulnerable to manipolation of people who do exploit the system.
@mikehunt69485 жыл бұрын
Very interesting analysis!
@Box-O-Soldier5 жыл бұрын
The sad truth is this isn't just Italy. I can easily imagine such things happen all over the world. Hell, I get to see it just by entering into a bus where I live as well. And the worst part is that one truly can't change things. People WILL look for loopholes in law to exploit. People WILL seek those whom they can manipulate. People WILL work around the system, regardless the scale or the possible punishment. And all that because if you can't change the system, you can at least exploit it to your own benefit, even if it could forfeit someone's job/health/life. That's just life nowadays, and ironically enough - I don't think it'll change. Ever. It's too lucrative.

@@Box-O-Soldier the United States government was originally designed to avoid as many loopholes as possible. The world elite had to add bad rules and chip away at the good for more than a hundred years to get the government as corrupt as it is now. What made the US government great in the beginning was that it let the people take responsibility for themselves. It didn't provide welfare or anything else to exploit. Any damage done to Diavolo within those ten seconds of erased time will also be erased, and Diavolo will be intact after the ten seconds are done, due to the fact that, since the damage took place within erased time, it technically never happened: imgur.com/ebDfo03 All the actions the opponent takes in those ten seconds where time is erased are meaningless. It is worth noting that King Crimson is never shown to directly interact with people until time returns to normal, so it is likely that Diavolo is also incapable of damaging the opponent while time is erased, but this has never been confirmed. I completely relate to your love of GOOD fate based story telling. Nothing is quite as horrifying or sobering as the inability to alter ones fate. It makes us feel powerless and helpless to a greater force. Ultimately, although in some ways comforting, the concept of fate requires you to be strong enough to admit how truly weak you ultimately are, regardless of anything in the world. People often spend their whole lives, trying to amass what they consider happiness for themselves, when ultimately fate shows us that happiness isn't something we can collect and store, its only something we can live, as fleeting as it may be.

@gingermenace80565 жыл бұрын
Jaxon Moreno that’s a good interpretation and I can see that. I see the ending as the joestars escaping their cursed fate with Dio as a sort of rebuttal to part 5. While you can’t change your own fate, others can for you, with mista changing the fates of naranccia and abbachio, and in part 6 emporio and weather report killing Pucci to change Jolynes fate. tying in the themes of friendship prevalent in part 3 and 4. Hope that makes sense

@AmberMetallicScorpion4 жыл бұрын
or, now here's just a crazy idea, wait for part 6 to finish being animated and not expecting people to pander to those that go ahead instead of sticking with the majority who wait pationately because the anime often get the points across better than the manga

People hate her?
@kodytiffany56864 жыл бұрын
@@divineshinobi1791 I have seen a vid about ranking the Jojo's and she was lower end, so I assume that there is some. She also has a really odd stand that is hard to get what makes it OP. Lastly the end credit bit of the story after the final fight to me is a happily ever after like of ending but people still hate it because it was an "ass pull" type of thing to them or something. I thought the ending was brilliant and that she has one of the more enjoyable personalities like Joseph to me. Smart and funny. I do suggest people read Part 6 and if the first 3 chapters don't hook you I would be surprised. I am bad at finishing stories when I do not own the physical copy, so I never read all of part 6. But the first 10-20 chapters and the last battle and after bit I did that was enough for me to like it better than most other parts. Maybe the anime version will change my mind, but as it is, Part 6 is my second fav and part 7 is my fav despite not completing either, they are to insane with there end game plots and final villains to think less of them.

Famtastic analysis! I love how rolling stones gives us a peek at how Bucciarati's crew interacted before Giorno joined. I had a feeling that you'd cover it. Now I have to rewatch it to view it from the perspective of unchanging fate. That enduring hope that Bucciarati's fate could change and defy the death King Crimson chose for him was destroyed in that ark and made me realize that the journey was not about changing fate, just guiding you to the inevitable end. I think Nux might be wrong about Giorno and fate. Giorna was about taking fate into his own hands, while still accepting it, which he metaphorically does by holding the arrow which was shown to represent fate. The Boss was about not accepting fate, and robbed of the ultimate fate. The sculptor / the rolling stone was about accepting fate, to the point nihilistic suicide. The 3 represent the ways people can handle fate, the Stone and the Boss being on opposite ends with Giorno in the middle.
@KaiCyreus5 жыл бұрын
Giorno is an active character with a flat character arc. He is not changed by the events in the story, he is the one who drives them forward, metaphorically so and also emotionally and literally, within his comrades. Without Giorno, Bruno's group would never get as far as it did.
