The 3060 may not have been a good option on release at that inflated price but now, for budget 1080p gaming and for those of us who use many GB of texture mods, the 3060 is literally one of the best value for money oprions available today. Mine also handles overclocking so well it just absolutely destroys any game i throw at it at 1080p, dual monitors. Great card.

@boburanus699 ай бұрын
Considering the cut-down nature of the entire 4xxx lineup (basically shifted each one down one card title, 4060 is actually a 4050, ect) this is very true. If you can acquire a 12gb 3060 you will see some games easily using more than 8gb of Vram at 1080p, with higher settings. Where people might object to 3060 vs say a ti variant or 3070, is when you want higher settings at higher resolutions. 1440p is doable on this card. The tradeoff becomes FPS vs Resolution vs Settings. If you want high FPS and Resolution, gonna have to sacrifice settings. If you want high settings and FPS, gonna have to sacrifice resolution. If you want High resolution and high settings, gonna sacrifice FPS. For me, I can run Doom Eternal on 1080p with ultra settings, RTX/DLSS disabled, ~144 fps with this card. Vram usage creeps slightly above 10gb, with no noticeable frame dips or other issues. Similarly, Apex Legends will run at 144hz with maxxed settings. BF5 and GTA5 run between 60-100 fps. This card is pretty beast for the power draw, footprint, heat, ect. I went from a 980 to 3060. A 1080ti is roughly equivalent to the 3060.

You can't sell a 3050Ti for 300+, so you call it 3060 and everything is fine. Last summer we got the same (rasterization) performance for less money (5700XT). So, even the MSRP is too high, let alone the crazy scalper prices. But people are buying every piece of 💩

keep in mind that this is the best current gen Nvidia card available in an ITX form factor (below 180mm in length, dual slot design). You could get a GTX 1080 in the same form factor, and then an RTX 2070. In terms of performance per Watt, Nvidia has made almost no progress in the span of 5 years. All they are doing is throwing more power at the problem to squeeze out more performance, kinda like Intel has been doing for a long time now. Really weak showing from Nvidia. Edit: I was wrong, MSI has a 3060Ti ITX card, which is actually a decent generational performance improvement over previous ITX cards.

Even the most expensive version of the 3060, a card that in Sweden retails for $730, sold out within seconds of launch. I gut my 3080 for $940, as it launched with the Nvidia sanctioned 'introductory price' to somewhat reach their claimed MSRP. This price was supposed to last for the first 6 weeks or so, but with stock being what it was, it was effectively a 'fake' price, for few a very small selection of consumers. Today, the same 3080 I have, the TUF OC version, is listed at $1450 at the same store where I got mine from, for $940. I'm happy that I managed to get my GPU, but holy cow is this some real BS for everyone desperate to buy a card. There aren't even other cards available, even if you were willing to play overprice for last generation stuff. The only GPUs that I can find are GT series cards, such as the GT 1030 - but I would almost rather call that a display adapter...

She said I should just start now. I hit her with every reason why it isn't worth starting now and she said to just do it anyway. Said I'd probably just use one of those services where you lend out your gpu for mining, she said go for it. I said I'd want to upgrade my gaming pc first and use my old parts instead of my gaming pc. She said do it. So I no longer have to go through the "did you need to spend that money on new parts" convo, just need to find a new gpu at msrp, let my Vega56 mine for 12+ months to recoup the new gpu's cost (if prices don't dip) and then anything after that is icing on the cake.

What about the fact the Taiwan is in China's crosshairs or that the world supply chain was disrupted? What about the fact that the US COULD have tons of rare earth mines and chip factories but would rather use slave labor in other countries. FOH. Mining also gets more efficient by the minute. GPU mining is dead anyway, ASIC and FPGA miners will be the only viable method in a few months even for the easiest to mine cryptos.
