Hi. Great video. I’m planning to buy this. Please clarify some doubts for me. 1) Can we use the same power adapter that comes with the box ,here in india ? Or do we need to purchase any extra adapters? 2) Does it runs the latest android OS as of today? Any performance issues so far whether in OS or with any OTT apps or kodi, vlc players? 3) My main goal is to run lossless mkv 4k movies through Hard disk via vlc, kodi. Does it gives any lag while running lossless 4k rips (PS: i have atmos AV receiver. So obviously this should support atmos or dts x files) Thanks in advance

Glad you liked it. 1. You would need a universal plug adapter if you don't have a spike at home that has in-built universal socket (instead of round holes it will be of different shape with shutter). 2. It runs on Android 11 now. Having latest OS doesn't matter as of now as TV OS is not like phone OS. Google TV OS is the latest one but it's not like the best yet. Very occasional hiccups here and there but no performance issues. 3. It is the best device for lossless playback but VLC is the not the best player for it. The best way would be to use Plex. You would need a laptop/desktop to configure your usb/hdd as server. Atmos and DTS x is possible if your sound system supports video pass through or your TV supports those codecs via HDMI arc. But have you tried any other apps like kodi etc., apart from PLEX server. I don’t have much knowledge about the plex server. If laptop has my media via HDD. Do i need to keep my Laptop always ON for plex to be running?

@@rv2703 Hey Kodi works fine too but Plex is the best for any type of audio codecs... Also especially for Dolby Vision. You don't need to keep the laptop on. It's just for configuring. The hdd/usb will be connected to Sheild only and configuration through laptop is by wifi connection. Anyway you can enjoy streaming with Kodi for most scenarios, so need not worry.

@@IAmGizmogeek Hey there! Thanks for your answer. I made up my mind to go for the shield. But one last question though. I have an external Hard disk with mkv rips. Its in exFat format. Since i have mac I wont be using NTFS. Does the shield support exfat hard disk to use as an external storage device (not internal) ? I’ll just be using for plug and play like normal pendrive’s. Can you confirm this please. Just wanna confirm everything before purchase since its an expensive product. Thanks in advance.

@@rv2703 Shield does support Ex-FAT file system too. But cannot say that any update can effect the usage in future. Some updates can cause an issue with detecting HDDs like it happened with A11 update, but they again push updates to rectify things. So yes, you can go a head with the purchase. Don't forget to use the link in the description to make the purchase if possible.

Hi does shield pro has 5.1 compatability for all indian OTT Apps. Because hotstar and Zee doesn't give 5.1 output from samsung TV's and they limited to few android devices only. So does shield make anything better than firestick 4k max. Please advice.

Yes bro it's support 5.1 Dolby and DTS. And I'm using samsung tv my support 5.1 but support only Dolby and Dolby digital Plus

Hi... Yes, it supports Dolby 5.1 for all OTT apps. Hotstar soon gonna support Atmos too and shield will be able to support that too of your TV or soundsystem supports Atmos.

Shield TV pro is for power users who want to connect a Soundsystem and play high-quality downloaded content of any format and codecs. Smooth performance with good AI enhancement is an added advantage.

I have tons of REMUXES movies with Atmos and DTS:X on HDD, planning to buy but if I connect it with my LG OLED which does not passthrough DTS so this device become useless for me then? If I connect it with Soundbar which is old and has NO support for HDR DV passthrough. really dont know what to do !! Btw, How do you play remux atmos movies ? hook up your Hdd direct to Nvidia and use Kodi player ? or still you use Plex and hook up your HDD to laptop as media server?

If you want to play lossless Remuxes, then you need to upgrade all the devices unfortunately. There's no shortcut. I have a DD+ soundbar and I connect HDD directly to shield and use Plex as shield can work as Plex server too. Nova player is another alternative I use. Using laptop/pc as server doesn't give ideal output without LAN connection.

You can use your Laptop/Desktop as server for Plex and then play the movie from Plex on your existing TV. That's the no investment way to do this. Another way is directly connecting laptop/desktop via HDMI. Unfortunately, there are no other trustworthy devices like Shield to do the same.

Hi.. yes your TV becomes fully android capable. The downloaded remix movies obviously have better quality as lesser compression.. just make sure that the downloaded content audio codec is supported by your TV.

I connected a Kingston disk on key then I formatted it and it took a lot of time and still not finished I removed it from the streamer during the formatting and still a message appeared that he formatted then I removed the streamer from the power and everything is fine now it is not terrible I removed the power while the streamer was running?

Shouldn't be a problem but if the formatting was half done, it's possible that your disk will not be recognised by Windows devices. If that's the case, connect it again to streamer and format it as external storage.

Hey... It's possible but only if your Soundbar supports passthrough as you have to connect the Shield to Soundbar and let soundbar to decode audio and just send video to Projector.

No... Nvidia Geforce now doesn't work in India. I read that opening the Game with VPN and then turning it off is possible, but did not go through that effort.

Yea, they messed up with the update. But apart from Plex server issue, I ain't facing any issue as of now. And looking at the number of hotfixes, I am positive that it will reach stable in a month or 2.

Hey... As I mentioned in the video, it's not officially supported. You can create a membership from a supporting country and use VPN to connect to that region for starting the game. Once the game starts you can end the VPN.
