We tested a bunch of lithium and agm Harley Davidson motorcycle audio and Polaris Slingshot audio batteries and uncovered some questionable marketing when it came to how these batteries are rated . Some of these companies mislead clients about the battery capacity by using terms like eq ( equivalent to ) .
In Motorcycle audio it all comes down to reserve current in Amp hours !!! The bikes have to be off during the audio competitions so it all comes down to the largest bank of available current to supply your amplifiers !!!!

I still have the stock battery and want to upgrade, my bikes a 2021 and the dealer said DO NOT go lithium. Is there any downsides or are they just trying to keep me to Harley brand ?

Carlos, I've learned so much from you about motorcycle audio! I have upgraded my entire Harley Audio system and its now very nice from a stock system! I just put in the stinger spx950 for my 2012 Roadglide. Is there a battery terminal adapter for this battery? The terminal plugs don't line up with my battery terminal cables on the bike. Update: My son and I were able to get the battery in but it was a chore. We had to literally bend the terminals , so that they could be flush to the side mounted posts. Nice battery but had a time getting it hooked up!

Lithium battery's cranking power does not drop-off as much as a AGM battery because of its flat discharge curve, so a smaller amount of amp hours can actually crank your engine longer. ... Lithium battery doesn't need to have a high AH rate because of this. AGM batteries only use less than 40 % of that AH number. Lithium battery's use 85% of it's AH. In general.

Correct The purpose of the video is to make people understand that all lithium batteries are not created equal . Ah ratings are not the same as AH EQ ratings. You can not buy a true 30 ah battery for $399

I have the one battery for the stock operations starting etc, and the 2nd is located in the rear for my audio only. If I use a XS 5100 back there will it fit? Depends on how much power you are running We do a Braille agm in the front on Small 1500 watt setups 3000 watts we do one in the front and one in the back of the braille agm on a custom mount 3000 watts plus we do braille or limitless lithium On in the front and one in the back Or customs racks in the front for More batteries

What would be the benifit of upgrading battery if i only plan on having sound system on while slingshot is running? Do i still need that lithuim battery if im only using while crusing and vehicle is on. What do you recommend for an under the hood replacement on the new 2020 slingshot. I hear the braile lithuim dosent do well with heat.(running about 1500 rms)

Lithium does great in the heat But if you will only be running the audio with the bike on then it’s definitely not worth the investment. Run a xs power agm and you will be good to go . We normally just add a xs power d3400 in the rear and leave the stock battery in the front ( wire them both together) The front battery is small and mounted to the frame , it’s going to be hard to find a drop in replacement.

Harley’s lead battery will last for 6 years if you properly take care of it. Don’t buy those shit aftermarket tenders. They have the indoor tender, the weather resistant tender which is $10 dollars more, and the lithium tenders. Everyone who uses the aftermarket tenders end up crying about the battery dying prematurely.

2 problems with the Indian bikes 1. The factory battery is very small ( half the size of the Harley-Davidson battery ) and the pocket is made so you can’t really go bigger I definitely recommend a lithium but the Harley lithium won’t fit . Measure your factory battery and email me . I will find you one that fits . 2. There is no room in the fairing to mount amps So the amps will have to go in the tour pack or the saddle bags

Biggest waste of money I ever spent on my Harley was a lithium battery from LiLead. You will never convince me any lithium battery is great for starting a an HD. HDs need grinding power to get them started. Lithium just can't deliver this long power draw needed before they become unstable and need to shut down. I have never been left stranded needing a jump more than I have with this LiLead junk. Going back to AGM this Summer.

Sound like you have power flow issues Is all your power wiring and grounds ofc copper ? You are only running 1000 watts rms Your factor battery should handle that . I recommend the stinger Harley-Davidson battery and new ofc power and ground wires

Amp hour equivalent does not mean that they are guessing. The company is providing an amp hour equivalent to an AGM battery. All lithium batteries have an amp hour equivalent to an AGM. Its important to know this information so that you know which AGM battery is equivalent to a lithium battery. Or vice versa.
