Good to see amps actually meeting and exceeding ratings. Unfortunately, not all amps meet ratings and everyone should understand CEA2006 only refers to 4 ohm power. Great test, keep them coming!

You guys should do a ton of amp tests. It's always interesting. Maybe you could test them and sell them with a slight discount since it would be open box. good stuff sonic.

What makes you think they need or what to do this? Are they running short on stock and you know something we all don't? The amp is already exceeds a $1 per watt (RMS, CEA2006), what more do you want?

First off I'm not even clear on what you are talking about. This isn't about nvx, the amp did great. I'm saying amp dyno vids are awesome and informative. Steve Meade did a lot but he has to buy an amp to test it. Sonic could test amps from every brand and sell the amps that have been opened and tested for a slight discount.

I would pay more for an amp that has already been opened and tested. I would know what i am getting is not going to be doa, and know exactly what im getting. It would be amazing if there was a compnay that offered this service, for a small fee, before they ship em out. Save us all a lot of headaches, and greatly cut down on the amount of shipping.

Im not sure if they still do but MTX would do this w all their amps and include the spec sheet and individuals results of each amp and signed off by the person who tested it.

Have this amp in my boat. running 1 alpine type r 12 ported box and 8- 6 1/2 mids. I dont know about you all but this amp is clean and loud. Kick rocks if you say its not a good amp.

Why is it that when you test other amps the voltage is 14.4vdc or lower(most of the times lower), but when you test nvx amps you make sure the voltage is about 14.7 or higher? Why don't you do a fair comparison between nvx amps and other brands?

What is it? You should look at all the electrical parts of your car. Are you talking at idle, part-throttle, cruise control/steady state, normal driving?

I don't think it's ever at that voltage on any of my cars. My STS does ride at 14.5 while driving though. My other cars...not so much, but I agree with you, it's more about my car not running correctly. I like that the CT amps, I believe that's the company, rates their amps at 12 volts.

I owned both the 4 channel and 1 channel versions of this amp. My 4channel I ran infinity kappa speakers @2 ohms. The amp got pretty damn warm and would shut off at times. The 1 channel wired very well. Bass knob is garbage. Yes, I set my gains with my DD-1 and my ground was good on ohms. I don’t recommend running the 2 ohm loading on the 4 channel and probably this amp as well for the voice speakers.

I have the version hes testing. ITs weird because sometimes i can go awhile and it wont shut off. Other times it will shut off after 10 min. I recently lowered all the gains and lowered the output of the sub both via the HU and the knob. The knob in the 5 channel version isnt a bass knob just sub control. Im hoping this will help with the shutting off part.

Its like a quick burst of power. Like say you can lift 150lbs..but maybe on a good day you get little bit extra ommph an can life 180lbs but only for a brief second..Its the most it can do but doesnt normally pull..

Ive had this same amp for 6 years now still going strong. I havent tested but im fairly certain it makes its rated power at the proper voltage.

I bought one of these from you guys after watching this video. this amp sucks. I really don't believe the output numbers you guys are showing. the sub is weak and the other 4 speakers don't seem to be getting what they should be. I put it in place of my jl hd900/5, and it seems to put out half the power. can we get a amp dyno on the hd900/5?

I think the main channels are producing its rated power but i dont think its giving out more than that. Also the Sub Channel seems a bit weak to me. It still sounds good to me so i probably leave it as is for now.

Luis X my review was a bit harsh lol. Its an ok amp, and most people would be happy with it. I was dumb to expect similar performance from something that cost 1/5 of the price as the jl. If you had to run 2 you could probably get similar performance

Yea i hear you its ok for now..I think i should of went w the Pioneer GM9605 instead. The extra 100 watts and the sub channel would of been beneficial to me. Ive only had it set up for 2 weeks. Im using a factory radio as well so that might have a bit do with it. I tweaked it today a bit. JL makes good stuff but i think they are bit too pricey.

i wouldn't trade my JAD900.5 for the JL 900/5, if the NVX amp is not performing up to snuff you're doing it wrong..

It can run at 1ohm this is the same amplifier as the PPI 900.5 that's one ohm stable and the Polk d5000.5 that is also one ohm stable

@@d77543020 I hope you are correct cause I have been running my sub for a while at 4 ohm just because I can only run it at 4 and 1. If it will hold at 1 ohm then I'll just rewire my sub to handle the 1 ohm load. I wish someone had a video showing what the watts are at during a 1 ohm test.
