As somebody from Tuscany I can tell you the only reason it's not number one is because there's a lot of teens up to dumb shenanigans and a lot of old people with time on their hands to report them.

**I think** the numbers are not correct? For example, according to your crime map data, Brentwood has 160 total crimes with a population of 6585, I think the crime # per 100 people should be:2.4 instead of 24?

I live in Montgomery and I'm shocked! I love Montgomery. I have not experienced any crime. I don't know about the accuracy of your data relating to the age of the average home in Montgomery. On my street, there is only 1 house that is not an infil. Most of the homes from the 1980's are long gone.

Thanks for responding. All data was from city of calgary census. In an area that’s changing the data can become wrong quickly compared to areas not changing. Truthfully calgary and most areas are very safe

@saiya80785 ай бұрын
I would question where these statistics come from and also what type of crime you're basing your statistics on. I've lived in Calgary for over 40 years and i can tell you your list is not true. There are a ton of schools with children freely playing on the streets of your top 5 crime list, it doesnt even make sense. As someone has mentioned, just look up Dover and Marlboroigh communities. The SE (17th ave) and NE has much higher crime rate. I would highly recommend anyone watching these videos to do further research as i find this channel mostly ship suburbs that requires you to have a car and really seperated from the core of Calgary and define what Calgary is. Urban sprawl has become a huge problem for this city, and this channel usually ships these suburbs that are causing these urban sprawls and segragated communities. Of course, this is a real estate channel, so its a part of their marketing efforts to get people to buy into these urban communities. But trust me, you will be spending alot of your time in your car; and you better hope it doesnt break down, otherwise you will be stuck.

Appreciate your comment. As you can see by the title this is only NW Neighbourhoods. We aren’t comparing NW to NE. Crime overall in calgary is very low and the research comes from police maps combined with the latest population numbers from the last census. Calgary, unfortunately is mainly a car city. It could change on the future but that is how it was designed. Many communities that are seeing changes are adjusting the amenities to create more walkable neighbourhoods which is great. Thanks for watching and the comment.

Very interesting analysis. I'd love to see the same for the other regions. Also, it'd be great to have the sources for all these data regarding the crimes. The Crime Map available at the city's website covers data from 2012-2019, but this one seems much more recent, which is important.
@ChamberlainGroup Жыл бұрын
So on that crime map there is a link at the top that has newer data and that’s how I found this more recent info. It’s essentially a newer crime map.

We live in Royal Oak. Yeah, it's safe, but boring, but safe...and boring :) And this hood is too far away from everything in the city. Actually I can get to Cochrane faster than I can get to Inglewood, for example. It's good for seniors, I believe, but not very good for young people. There is only one elementary school here, and it's overcrowded. So yeah, but its safe here :)
@yukon666 Жыл бұрын
We personally like University District and Dalhousie in NW. Would gladly move there in a second. Need to explore Brentwood more, drove once through, looked pretty good as well.
@ChamberlainGroup Жыл бұрын
Royal Oak is further out for sure from the core. If you're wanting to be more inner city then yes, Dalhousie or further in is where you'd want to look. it really depends on what you're wanting and looking for, also what your budget is too... but there are options!
