I saw that point (to Sarr) from Croix Bethune when it happened, and had to rewind a couple times to watch it again because it was so sweet. Bethune is just in charge out there, always making good things happen around her.

I asked Hines last night about the trajectory without mentioning invincibility (because of superstition) and he had a very British answer about it and HC was less vague. She says that the top of the table doesn't surprise anyone who saw this team emerging midway through last season and not just when Banda landed. Everyone kind of agrees that 18 isn't supposed to be possible and expecting it can put focus on the wrong things. Haley's quote the two times I've asked was "I can't even think about it." They're looking at the big picture end of the season results, and 18 unbeaten can be a distracting number to think about when each game should just be about the three points. I seriously doubt the what ifs haven't flown around but I agree that the mentality of the team would suffer if they didn't still go into each game like it's not promised. It's the nature of football that a massive team can have a weird game or result and it can sometimes come down to a goalpost or a few minutes of extra time. I think it's even harder for the fans to think about invincibility because we're programmed a little down here to overthink everything after the years we've had but fotmob has turned into a nice source of dopamine infusion when I look at completion/accuracy percentages coming out of our.... every position. Also, Moorhouse in our home game against Washington Spirit last season was where everyone should have noticed her emergence from the ashes. I want that game played at my viking funeral.

What about a time capsule idea for a future show...Who will make the next US World Cup team apart from the obvious Hal and Croix? Ally Sentnor? I'm imagining Lindsay, Alyssa, Crystal, Casey, Lynne might have peaked....Sonnet seems to just get better as she ages. DO we have an up and coming Lindsay? What about a workaholic like Crystal?

In my opinion, the Jona influence, big influence, was more palpable in Defense. Not offense. Yes there's influence on both but the big adjustments are in defense phase. KC has always defended poorly. But they outscore you. Not vs Jona's spirit. The spirit punished KC on their Common defensive mistakes, but the key is the Spirit did not give KC the spaces the thrive on

In the KC-Washington game, I thought LaBonta deserved a red card. It was a tactical foul, but her elbow went to the neck and face on Carle I believe. The refs need to clean things like that up. if they start calling it, it will end quickly. I usually have a player i watch on every team and Hutton has won me over on KC. You called her play okay but I might add her play was okay at best. Hutton.s loss for the next four weeks is the second most impact to a team behind Sentnor. What is going on with Cook? For Carolina, I was disappointed in Vine. The Courage love to run that little triangle on the right side with Sanchez and Williams. Vine's passing was imprecise. Sanchez is my fav on Carolina. She needs players to combine with to be effective. Her and Vine had no chemistry. Poor game for Sanchez overall after playing near her best for the past two months.

Cook and Ballisager is not a playoff quality CB pairing. was KC watching Cook for the past 12 months before trading for her? she has been lost at sea for the past year (it's almost as if not playing a minute under Vlatko's reign at the 23' world cup might have had a long term negative effect on her confidence). and THAT Michelle Cooper "pass" ... fellas ... what in the world. KC's cracks are starting to spread after a very fun start & that defense right now is begging to be run at.
