A summer trip to Switzerland AND the women’s Euros? An absolute dream.

Dino and I are going to try to make it happen. I gotta save enough nickels from my next several paychecks and try to get a show sponsor, but it's worth a shot. We'll grab beers (or whatever beverage with or without alcohol) with other folks who make it out there. I like the idea of an ITC Summit with all the friends of the program. (You're top of the list, btw.)

Thank you guys for having Peter Weis again! I have a question though, do you think that during these international tournaments, there is a disparity between teams who are off season (mostly European team after some long seasons) and American teams who are still in season like nwsl, liga mx...?

There could be, but I wonder about the World Cups because they take place at around the same time. Netherlands was the 2019 runner-up while Spain, England, and Sweden were the top three finishers from last year. It seems European teams do well in World Cups, unless those are anomalies.

This is such a great question. I don't think I noticed anything too significant in last year's World Cup between the players who were in-season with their club, but it's reasonable to believe that people who basically don't get an offseason because they have to pull international duty would be slightly more tired. Overall, I'm leaning toward there not being a giant difference for teams as a whole and it probably effects individual players on some kind of sliding scale. (A very boring answer by me, I know.) Where do you land on it?

Good point about Spain, England, and Sweden last year, Phil. I know **all** of the players on those rosters don't play in Europe, but enough of them do to make me think playing the traditional football calendar and then competing in the World Cup isn't necessarily a disadvantage.

Awesome to have Peter back- he would definitely be a great recurring guest, especially at the Euros. Glad Germany was able to take Bronze even with their roster troubles and hopefully Oberdorf can return soon.
