Like they said malibu is definitely the better project with more layers and feelings of emotion This project sounds like two friends hanging out and one throws on a beat and the other raps/sings and vibes to it. with that being said I do surprisingly go back to this more than Malibu tho. but all in all great year for Anderson Paak who's been a highlight in the fucked up year of 2016

Knxwledge has so many great projects out. One of the few producers for me that paints pictures without the vocalist. On the flip side I believe this project is like an alter ego thing for .Paak and I don't see the point in needing to compare this to Malibu. For me, this was a rideable project and Malibu is his full expression with live sounds and introspection. I have a theory that more artists should try side projects like this because maybe that'll be a creative outlet for their main work.

I feel like, musically, Anderson Paak seems to bring together effortlessly the palettes of West Coast rap, more alternative jazzy styles like what you might see on a Robert Glasper project, and Curtis Mayfield in the way his intonation flows - really cool to see such disparate influences bubble together so fluidly! hip hop keep growing!

This is like the r&b madvillainy for me, short but sweet tracks, clever song writing, great beats, theres even an underlying narrative about maturity most ppl don't seem to realize, it has tons of replay value cause i tend to go back to it more than malibu, even tho malibu had more variation thats dope, but this album was supposed to have a specific sound and the different sounds of the album and its beats make it vary and sound different on multiple tracks i feel like years down the line this will get looked at as a classic, its just that right now people expected something different from their album that didn't quite reach the expectation of what they wanted
