Unpopular opinion. Nick will never be a Mister Olympia. Not to take away anything from him. He brings the condition. He brings the muscle. He can pose. But as long as there are Derek and Hadi i don't see Nick ever beating them. Add Samson to the mix. I just don't see him beating them.

This is a bad take. I never expected Dexter Jackson, Shawn Rhoden or Brandon Curry to win the O. Nick is good enough to win, but you're right that it would take for some more gifted people to come off. Very few shows are like this one where several guys come in shape, and most Olympias most people are just off. Dexter has proven that if you just consistently come in shape and you're always good enough to be in top 5, you have a pretty solid chance to eventually win.
@BA-tl4ju
@BA-tl4ju 4 ай бұрын
The judges scorecards are indicative of this being true. It was so close and it was the best Nick ever, and a Martin who has lots of time and room to improve. No knock on Martin, but he’s not close to pushing someone like Andrew, Samson, Hadi, Derek or Brandon like this, which makes me think that when it comes time to the Olympia, all those guys are ahead of Nick UNLESS they come in seriously unconditioned.

@MRENTERTAINMENT36 You're probably right. He has the best physique up there, he just needs to continue filling out his physique and don't blow up up to 330 in the off season. He needs to grow into his physique and not just put on a lot of body fat, just to strip it away and look the same in the end. Just my opinion. But this is his 1st time working with Matt, and they will definitely figure it out. Matt is good at what he does. 💯🙏🏾💪🏿

The issue is, if Martin wants to get the amount of muscle that Nick has, I don’t think that waist will stay the same. It’s really tough to compare. What’s making Nick win is something that for Martin to achieve could hurt his aesthetic. Nick was a clear winner to me.
@yousufibrahim884
@yousufibrahim884 4 ай бұрын
There was a 1 point difference in both pre judging and finals. I think Martin can add 5-10 more lbs of muscle on his frame without making his waist bigger, and even if it does get bigger, I still think he’d look aesthetically pleasing to look at, because his waist is already small and having it grow wouldn’t be a big detriment to his physique.

I was at the show last night. Popularity should have no basis on ones standing. However, when Nick Walked out in the Finals for his performance, 1,000 cell phones came out and a dead crowd, sort of "woke up" and went wild. Then 1/2 the ballroom emptied out immediately. Very Rock Star ish. I've never seen anything like it.

No ones beating Derrick for many years to come. Point blank period. Derrick’s gonna win at least 2-3 more and by then nicks waist will be too thick, and neither of them are every whinny the Mr O so everyone’s competing for second place. Can I be wrong of course but honestly i highly doubt anyone beat Derrick. They can be great all they want and I’m here for it but it’s very obvious he one two Olympia’s in two classes for a reason. Just like Phil and jay and Ronnie and Dorian they all were just light years away and that’s Derrick. If Nick didn’t have that mid section I think it would be comparable to a Kai and Phil battle for a few years, and just like that battle I think nicks mid section is and will hold him back from standing next to Derrick. Martian is awesome but like you guys said he needs that 15 pounds of mature muscle to stand with these guys. How they were a point a part is kinda weird.

As it pertains to Quinton, it’s time to have a real conversation about Matt Jansen. This is a huge generalization but it seems he just loads people up on pharmaceutical GH (Revive has a “health optimization” clinic) and hopes for the best. I’m convinced Nick and Shaun would be great without Matt considering their prolonged success. Nicks abs are smoothing over and Quintons looked the worst they ever have. How does that happen to two guys with some of the best abs in the sport?? And like Fouad said, Quinton did not get any better. He’s fucking around playing the size game which he’ll never win. He should come in shredded and put together a great routine he can definitely win a show. He just stands up there and hits the poses and he’s not good enough for that yet. That’s Mr Olympia shit lol

I don’t think we underestimated him. We said he was going to win before the show and said he deserved to win after the show.

Thanks Fouad & Iain ! Nick definitely won, but I think Martin can have more growth & improvement in his physique...Nick is close to maxed out. If this is 2026 Martin would win.

I mean you said it Fouad around the 3 min mark... i personally prefer martins physique. Just for a normal dude like myself, esthetically, martin is what i would look at for inspiration. Congrats to nick for sure

I’ve said it before Martin reminds me of a shorter kuclo, balanced conditioned not missing anything but just needs 5% more to be that it guy

Martin has a kick@ss physique his balance and flow put him high up there to me. The fact he almost beat Nick is crazy, since Nick wasn't off from what I could tell either. Great job buddy. Love the come up!

Off season physiques don't always transfer to the stage well as there are a lot of variables. Quinton should not hang his head down. He is still young and he has a great coach. Now he just needs to experiment to see what formula will work for the stage. Considering how close one and two were, I am interested to see how the judging for the Olympia will be. I hope Tylor does a break down to give us a better idea of what the judges saw.

Totally great analogy gents, I'm more of an aesthetics guy however, Nick is just so overwhelming! With the way the new gen are evolving, I think the days of Mr O retaining the title for years is a thing of the past. I truly believe this years big comps will be historical!

The big names did not compete. This comes off as an easy win for Nick to "qualify" for the O. That's just my opinion.

I agree nicks oblique thickness has increased. He had drastically improved that in the past. From memory he attributed much of that too removing compound movements that heavily stimulated the trunk/core. I would find it hard to believe he has incorporated them back in. However if he has then he needs to instantly remove them again

Either Quint lost all his gains in the last 2/3 weeks, or he suffered from the curse of IG - looks amazing solo, not so much next to anyone else. He must be doing something wrong to take almost 2 years off and make almost no progress at all.

There is not a huge difference at muscularity. Like Iain said there is a little bit difference but I think finally we are going to see ‘beautiful physiques’ going to beat everybody else.

Nick’s definitely the definition of a mass monster. Beast! Props to the progress Martin’s made in the past couple years. Very impressive.

Nick needs to keep the fullness in his upper body that he had at the 22’ O combined with his now bigger and more separated legs. If he does that he could win the O this year. Little worried about his split in his abs getting further apart though. Abs looked better at the 22’ O

Thats why Classic has a shit load of people since it is better for tall guys! Open is for the short guys who can pack on muscles on their 2-inch limbs!!

You mean every Open bb? I'd like to know too. Look at Classic and it's striated delts. Open they're like water balloons. I'm guessing it's chemical related

@chrisbuehler6868 Correct. Open BB. Wonder if it's more than juice. Also, maybe as people want to see striated glutes, they dont want bumps in their ass.

@davebrummage6632 it is weird. People kinda shit on modern bb's saying they aren't as shredded as the 90s guys. But from the waist down they're WAY more shredded than those guys. Flex Wheeler Levrone never had carved out hamstrings and glutes. But then modern guys are just round and full in their upper body. I don't get it. Classic guys are peeled from head to toe. Vissers delts are insane striated

Martin at the O is going to be interesting to see. If he stood toe to toe with a guy who was 3rd in the world, Nick is either dropping way down at the O or Martin is gonna shake up the top 6
