But when I got my PPL in California in 1981 one of the things I most looked forward to was flying to Meigs. Unfortunately, life intervened and I didn’t get to it. Ultimately, the criminal pig Mayor Daley destroyed Meigs literally in the dead of the night. He stranded multiple airplanes that were either based there or transient. You don't need to be rich to fly, but if you really want it, its achievable. I managed to get it done while on unemployment. Its the best feeling in the world when you take off and land. How much crazy money pilots make? I guess you are a bit misinformed
@4nmusic7584 жыл бұрын
@@klimankhmeron7636 Investing in a commercial pilot license is clearly going to earn you great money working for an airline after you put your time in. Its not to say that it happens overnight as many pilots with a commercial pilots license start out making 5 figures for as little as 3 years before breaking 6 figures. I can't say this about many civilian jobs without a Masters or PhD requirement. Just like any job, if you put the time in, you'll reap the benefits, but airline pilots near retirement are making significantly more than most American households do combined. I could settle for a trade in construction and end up seeing $120k/yr near retirement or stick to flying put in the time and see damn near $200k/yr. Its all about preference and if you can deal with that lifestyle change. I do know that beginner pilots don't see nearly as much (closer to 30k), my cousin started flying for emirates nearly 8 years ago and made the switch to work for Chinese airlines for the significant pay increase but it is a bit of a culture shock for him. He's one of the reasons I decided to take lessons and get my PPL.

@@4nmusic758 I had this opportunity back in the day but I missed it. Now I'm in the different field but always coming back to an idea now to fly just for myself as a hobby. However, for many years I was checking the CP salaries and they never were close to $150k even having thousands of hours of flying experience.

At 1:51 in the video; pointing your thumbs towards each other and touching them with a closed fist is actually the ramp marshaling signal for chalks in. Touching your pinky fingers together with a closed fist and thumbs pointing out then moving your hands away from each other, is the actual signal for chalks out, but whatever works in a common understanding is just as good I guess 😁

Hi Max, thanks for sharing these tremendous videos! That was quite the crab angle on final approach! Regarding wake turbulence, it seems like a system could be developed using ADSB information to plot the likely position (taking into consideration wind drift), altitude, and duration of the vortex trails of heavy and large aircraft and then show this information on one of the cockpit displays (like the terrain awareness screen) to assist in vortex avoidance. I was reading some reports of upsets of business jets caused by 757's (not even a heavy aircraft), so this is a problem that needs more attention, even though technically ATC is supposed to provide vortex separation. Stay safe! -Ibrahim

Nice flight. I spotted the former site of Meigs Field, those of us that have been flight simming for a while know the significance of that location.

So glad I found your channel. I am grateful for you sharing these videos with the community. Max, I miss flying so much but you give me great memories. If ever you’re lonely on a flight, I would volunteer in a NY minute to keep you company. I have some good stories and remember when President Clinton used to fly in and it was so interesting to see the security process. Thanks Max

No auto throttles on the light jet CJ but maybe one day?! Will be interesting to see if auto land comes to the CJ. Would be something to look in to.

LOL But that is what makes this guy a pro. It simply APPEARS that way. There is a lot of difference. Keep in mind the CJ3 is targeted at people who can own a light business jet and actually qualify to fly it. Most of the time the two DO NOT MIX. To have that kind of jack usually requires a lot of time earning same. Not that it cant be done, but to be a pro in aviation and dedication to safety takes way more than most wish to put into it. That is why they hire is pilots.
