NYC apartment tour + small space living | upper east side 1 bedroom

after being in our beloved little apartment for almost 2 years now, we finally filmed a tour!
It is on the upper east side of NYC, with 1 bedroom for my partner and I, and a patio out back. After being in the city for 7 years now (oh my gosh) having some outdoor space is such a huge blessing!

The decorative part of your shower curtain is beautiful macrame work. The table runner, also beautiful, seems to be crocheted....not macrame? I did notice a macrame wall hanging, this looks so like the starting out home decor of my early years in the 70s with lots of wicker, baskets, macrame, plants. I guess some things never change. It looks like you and your partner are very happy in your cozy apt. All the Best to you

The outdoor space, and its size, were quite a surprise. It has so much potential. I'm a Bronx native, but left NY in 1990. I am addicted to these apartment tours, and tend to bring a little NYC style everywhere I live. I'm single, and if I lived in your apartment, I would flip the script, and make the livingroom my bedroom with an area to draw and paint. I'd probably get a Murphy bed, so that visitors would hang out in the backyard, without feeling like they're going through my bedroom. The bedroom would be set up as an office/den, with a small convertible sofabed type of thing. I'd make that apartment feel like a B&B, deluxe studio or luxury hotel suite.

@@MarilynLamanna I've done it in 2 of my previous apartments. In my current apartment of 11 months, I've crashed on the sofa more than I've slept in my bedroom. I wasn't able to tell where your apartment entrance was...kitchen or livingroom? I hope you switch it up for a few months at least, just to see if you like it.

Oh gosh, this is wonderful! The apartment might be small, but it was cozy and stylish to make you feel home and relaxed. The patio was such a great bonus, waking up in the morning to have your coffee there, coming home to have a relaxing time, or perhaps a barbeque party. Suggestions though (if you'd like), put more plants and lights. Thank you so much for sharing this! Your apartment does not seem small. I think it is beautiful and the space is nicely used. My nephew graduated last June from Steven's Univ of Technology and he lives in Manhattan. He was a music/graphic arts major and he also works FT in Manhattan. He look gives in a 3 BR apartment with his girlfriend. I have yet to see photos. I've stopped asking. I love the Rainbow over the desk painted on the wall. Thst would be so cool in my master bedroom which is painted Soft Sage by PPG. I use to make macrame belts and plant hangers when I was a teen and I just started getting interested in it again. I love your outside space. Iui t is just awesome and the lights add a lot. The macramay (sp?) theme does tie it all together well. (pun intended). The large sliding door windows and outdoor space is fantastic. I wish there was more room in the bedroom and you had more room to do your photography but you can't have everything.
