First I would like to congratulate Chief Maddrey for passing the bar exam my personal opinion Chief Maddrey has definitely change the history of police and community relations in Brooklyn. The people of Brooklyn owes you a great amount of gratitude for your services. Thank you kindly Ms Darla Miles for your brief report about the controversial comments involving a high ranking member of the NYPD Chief Chell and Council member Caban. I totally agree with the NYPD executives decision on not allowing three of their top brass to attend yesterday's City Council meeting. I strongly believe because of the atmosphere and intense question from Council members Chief Chell, Commissioner Daughtry, and Commissioner Sheppard could have easily in legal terms self-incriminate themselves. I am not implying that either individuals doesn't have the intelligence to answer tough questions, but because of the nature surrounding this particular situation it's in their best interest as well as the department for each individual not to be present at the hearing. Chief Chell I truly admire your passion and commitment to defend fellow Officers, the department, and yourself. You have the absolute right in doing so however please monitor your outspokeness. I am not going to engage into war of words with Mayor Adams because of my current maturity level. Secondly I have tremendous respect for Mayor Adams but I am literally surprised by his response regarding this situation without explaining the different ramifications that can take place because of certain comments were made. I understand that Chief Chell, Commissioner Daughtry, and Commissioner Sheppard are grown adults and everyone of us make mistakes myself included.Word of advice don't make any comments that will lead to your demotion or resignation. Don't jeopardize your career or your ability to provide for your family. I hope this situation doesn't affect the NYPD chances of negotiating their budget with Council members or the powers from within the department are pressured to take actions against employees. I pray that doesn't happen. I stated previously I had several personal conversations with members of the NYPD I know most of the experiences each officer face in public. Chief Chell I empathize with you because your comments are internal built up frustrations of Police Officers not being appreciated most of the time. I respectfully advise you to sincerely apologize to Council member Caban because it's the right thing to do. Please put your ego and position aside and think about what I just typed? I also advise each individuals that were involved from the NYPD to attend counseling. Talk to someone about how you feel? and what your going through? Encourage each other and hold one another accountable for their actions. Thank you God bless all of you.
