I’m old enough to remember New York in the 1960s when I was a child. Something like this was an ordinary occasion in most neighbourhoods. You couldn’t walk more than a block or two without seeing a fully habited religious or a priest wearing a cassock. Religious and priests were a common sight at every professional sports events. The two most important men in the city were the cardinal-archbishop and mayor, in that order. There was no doubt you were in an outwardly Catholic city.

I was watching for it as it has been said that if people knew that what they were seeing was the Lord, their Creator, processing by, they would fall flat on their faces and worship. That was what I was looking for as they processed through the streets of Manhatten. And I saw it! Go to 2:10 into the video and you will see an amazing sight. A young lady, kneeling, in the middle of a crosswalk, in downtown Manhatten, as the Lord processes by. Absolutely beautiful. God bless her!!! 😇
