NYC Manhattan Amtrak Moynihan Penn station Part One: Metropolitan Lounge first visit

Excellent video. Really nice that you showed us the breakfast and lunch offerings. Towards the end of the video, you left out the metropolitan lounge and I noticed a motley crew of passengers just inside the lounge waiting on some less comfy couches. I’m curious on why they didn’t go inside to enjoy the amenities like you did.

Amtrak Metropolitan Lounge is typically for at least First Class passengers while the Train Hall is for everyone mostly with Amtrak Coach and LIRR ticket holders. Those who are in the lounge have option to either enjoy all amenities offered or simply take a quick stop before last-minute boarding. The less-comfy couch waiting area you mention is sometimes used for the priority-boarding line up to accommodate elderly, disabled, family with little children as they are about to get an Amtrak employee escort service either by a steward, a stewardess, or Red Cap person.
