I actually own a NYC rat that was found as a pinkie on the subway! Someone was kind enough to pick him up and bring him to a wildlife rehabber, he was bottle fed for 6 weeks and then my friend got on a bus and brought him back in her pocket to Maine for me! Other metros that are in large cities in and around the world do not have rats visibly crawling around like they do in New York City.
