I use to Walk my dog by the FDR drive, and notice my dog would foam at the mouth whenever i would let her near the grass. They were spraying the grass, because at night you would see so many rats hidden in the brushes and grass along that strip. The parks, including Central Park, is saturated with rodincide, very well hidden from people and tourist. Be aware

When I went to Tokyo I was surprised how clean the city was. The buildings were not overly tall, but while some stuff was showing its age, it was clean. I went to NYC and their was garbage everywhere, and the smell of piss and sewage was constant, and I couldn't walk two blocks without being begged for money by a beggar. I honestly don't know why anyone would want to go to NYC at this point.

When I watch KZbinrs showing video of Japan or Tokyo it's so clean .. does subways the trains they're just so clean inside and out.. they put New York City to shame.. but that's what happens when you have Democrats in charge of your cities and states. If you go to every city and state that the Democrats are running right now they're all the same. Disgusting.. crime out of control.. everyone stealing stores are closing. The Democrats have very low standards and have no morals and their lawlessness

Our pets are not safe walking on the sidewalks and the dog parks are saturated with rodincide chemicals. It's in the grass to. The city will not put up any signs or warning about certain areas that was treated with harmful chemicals. But then someone's pet is suddenly unalive because of the hidden danger.

I moved out of Providence RI, a very small capital city with 180,000 people and the 9th biggest housing cost increase, thanks to all the Bostonians moving here to buy up property. It's very congested, rising crime since because of politics, the roads are terrible. It's so compact that there's really no shopping besides the mall, but no one wants to go there because of all the future astronauts. Now I'm in a small town of 29,000 people and it's way better.

I live in Somerville, MA, the next town over from Boston (Charlestown). I live near the Cambridge / Arlington / Somerville border. We're a miniature NYC. Same problems. I used to be able to go out of my apartment nearly every day, run errands and enjoy all of what the Greater Boston Area has to offer. No more. I've had a lifelong allergic reaction to Toluene... and so does my mother. It was manageable; I was careful when it came to perfumes / scented products, cheap magic markers, nail polish, paints, etc. I am fortunate that I have a friend who was sensitized to Toluene courtesy of a lab accident involving a 45 gallon drum of Toluene. She noticed that if she got her Toluene reaction, I would also get sick. Unfortunately for me, my Toluene reaction was more pronounced than hers, but it didn't stop either of us from going out and enjoying Eastern Massachusetts. Last summer, we had the Canadian Wildfires. I grew up in a house in rural Upstate NY that heated with wood. For the first three winters, my parents were idiots in that they thought they could heat the place using a fireplace, not a wood stove. It had an improperly constructed chimney that downdrafted. I lived in the poorly constructed loft that chimneyed. You can guess what happened. I developed asthma, which has only gotten worse over the years. My area has a real problem with traffic. The city regularly measures the traffic near my building--it has gone up by over 185% from its pre-pandemic levels. Some of this is because Cambridge eliminated a lane from Mass Ave, to put in bike and bus lanes. Mass Ave is a bottleneck. People looked for alternatives and they 'discovered' Broadway in Somerville. Traffic and Parking says that the vast majority of traffic going past me is not from people who live here, but from people who live towns away. One of my neighbors studies the effect of traffic on health. He has an air quality monitoring station. Prior to, and during the pandemic, I was able to go out whenever I wanted and enjoy Eastern Massachusetts. That is no longer the case. I am definitely sensitive to particulate size, PM 2.5, so wearing a respirator does help. Unfortunately, I have become very sensitive to Toluene--and that is worse than my PM 2.5 reaction. To start off, I will get a very runny nose, then a cough (time for the rescue inhaler). If I'm out more, I'll get itchy, watery eyes, a "smoker's cough", a nasty headache and then I throw up. Toluene is in gasoline and is one of the products of incomplete combustion. I can't go out and not get sick, courtesy of the traffic. I choose times when the traffic is low (weekends) to run my errands. Here is my advice for someone who is having problems due to pollution: 1. The government's monitoring of air quality is woefully insufficient--and those in authority know it. Polluting businesses know full well what they are doing and are peddling their influence to convince EPA and other government entities NOT to monitor air quality for other substances. Just because your local air quality station says there's good air quality doesn't mean that the air quality is good. 2. Purchase a very high quality air purifier for your apartment. My neighbor says that IQ Air makes the best products, for their final stage filter does filter out ultrafine particles that are also known to cause some people problems. 3. Time your errands. Try to run your errands when there's less traffic. 4. Medical gaslighting--be aware that there are many ignorant or corrupt doctors out there who "don't believe" that people can become sensitized to multiple chemicals, that when they go out, they will get sick. These doctors will not take what you have to say seriously. These buttholes will recommend that people with chemical sensitivities get mental health help--cognitive behavioral therapy. If you get gaslighted, do not pay the bill (service was not professionally rendered), do not see this doctor or his associates (doctors will "circle the wagon" and defend a bad, unethical colleague) and file complaints with the doctor's employer. 5. Try to identify exactly what substance(s) you are having problems with. A good allergist should be willing to take the time and be a good detective, but don't expect this. If you can say, I'm sure I'm allergic to . It is in and this is how it gets into the environment... This is how I went about figuring out exactly what substance I'm having problems with.... 6. Be prepared to move. Moving is very expensive, especially when you are sick and you are limited in the amount of work you can do. It's time to save up as much money as you can. If you are living in subsidized housing, in all likelihood, you will have to apply for a 'housing emergency' in order to get an apartment in another town. The waiting lists are long. (I wish I was in the UK. I have a really nice subsidized apartment, with great public transportation. There is parking, but it's best to live Car Free here. I am sure that if the housing authority would allow me to trade my subsidized apartment with another, suitably qualified tenant in another development, I could be out of here within a few months. In the UK, all I would have to do is put my council house flat on a trade board.) 7. Leaving the city comes with heavy costs. Know what you are going to lose and how this will affect your quality of life. When you talk to doctors, it's important that you acknowledge all of what you probably have already given up (because you get sick when you go out), that you would much rather stay put if it was possible (even when you are certain that what you have can not be treated, that you MUST leave).

One of the strangest things about living in NYC for me was knowing that at least one person was going to go through every item that I threw in the trash. There were a couple regulars that would pull up every time my building put the trash outside for pickup. They would carefully comb through every bag and then tie them back up when they were finished.

I have lived in a rural area for over 30 years. Left the city and suburban area for the slow paced and quiet life. Now all these people are moving into the area and trying to make it into a city. Constantly complaining why don't we have a planet fitness or all these chain restaurants or more apartment buildings. They will just ruin the little town that I have enjoyed living in for years. Sadly its time for me to find a new place to live.

I must say, i'm skeptical. I'm not convinced this is as big a problem as the city wants you to think. The solution is more taxes and regulations because we say so."_

The vehicle exhaust issue comes from the Diesel fueled vehicles, especially the local construction and transfer station trucks. Passenger cars have been so well regulated that they essentially produce zero emissions even in traffic. There is a program to bring Diesel vehicles into a similar level of cleanliness which has been implemented to a large extent. Another issue is that much of NYC's and surrounding's air quality problems are due to air patterns bringing pollution from other states. This is a huge political issue which has been raging for quite some time. It is the reason that Staten Island with a much smaller population of people and of course vehicles has some of the worst air quality in New York State, oftentimes the worst air quality in specific years.

It you take a look at the streets in the video, you can see abandoned rails, they weren't used by streetcars, the were used by small diesel and steam locomotives hauling boxcars in and out of the warehouses. Imagine if we restored those old tracks, imagine a small diesel hauling 4 or 5 boxcars worth of products that would've otherwise been delivered by 4 or 5 polluting trucks.

NYC should definitely do something about the trash. That's the one thing i agree with. We should take lessons from Tokyo. It's a bigger city, yet it's damn near spotless. Some of that has to do with their culture and how they respect each other, but it also has to do with how they actually handle trash.

Jordan, your a young guy and probably never experienced the auto fumes from leaded gas. What you are seeing in NYC today is nothing like it was in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. Back then cars got 9 miles a gallon and used leaded gas. You don't realize how bad it was until you go somewhere that still uses leaded gas. I don't know if they still use it in Russia but I was in Moscow December 1994 and they were still using leaded gas. It was really bad air compared to what you see in any US city because the lead. I don't recall all the breathing ailments back then which seems kind of odd.

Some truckers hop at the awesome payout hoping to make a quick buck. The payout then drops after NYC gets the goods. As long as there's people who are willing to make money NYC should always have a steady stream of goods.

Trucking companies are changing from diesel engines to natural gas and they are non polluting trucks. And, most of the cars are from people living in the outer cities and Jersey. Great job, CJ! In response to you, I will start with this quote, "Smithfield Foods, Inc., is a pork producer and food-processing company based in Smithfield, Virginia. It operates as a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Chinese-owned conglomerate WH Group...." The key words are "WH" (World Health) and "Chinese", as the Chinese own one part of our meat-producing supply that goes from the factory to your dinner table. From TikTok, to COVID, to toxic warehouses, to farmland, to the border, to almost everything else you could name, our current liberal government at both the federal and local levels is allowing America to be seized by foreign nationals. Americans are being sold and bought out at many levels, whether it is through AI, the border, or foreign capital seizure. Many people are likely going to just vote the same people back into office who claim to desperately want to clean up the environment under the guise of protecting democracy and its people but who secretly want socialist control by force. Our meat-packing industry, Smithfield, has been bought out by the Chinese and nobody is talking about it. Nobody is talking about how in the world a communist nation has been allowed to buy up American property on American soil that processes the "American" food supply. There is some chatter about a pending Chinese hack into our water supply as well. War, or what I call the "Weaponization Against Resistance" is now in the form of "mainstream media mind-control" where the liberal media are its defiant soldiers. They tell you anything, and they know that the mentally and emotionally weak (a good proportion of America today and it could be directly related to the food being consumed at the dinner table) will not do any research, immediately believe it, become hypnotized, and become controllable. It's all about minimizing resistance and maximizing compliance. People need to wake up!
