You can easily look at where your tax dollars are spent. For the federal government for example, around 63% of the ENTIRE budget goes towards social security and medicare/aid, then another 4% on the national debt's interest, so that's around 70% of the entire budget right there not really doing anything tangible. I imagine NYC wastes a good chunk of its budget on services for people who aren't even legally in the USA, go look into it if you're curious. Long story short, the retirement age is rising before 2030, screenshot this. Those of us in our 30s or 20s will probably never get to retire. The reason we can't just print money to fix everything is the aforementioned 4%. The more money printed, the more that percent goes up. It's "free" money, but not really, we still have to pay it.

We had this in our city in Florida. The citizens and their lawyers found legal loopholes and brought lawsuits against the city and they were forced to remove all the cameras. They made millions of dollars in people running red lights or not making a complete stop at red light and making a right instead of stopping completely. I know one of the big things is that you don’t know who is actually driving as cameras are reading license plates, and the cars. So who gets the bill? They did something like that at most intersections in downtown Toronto. The Amber signal was always 4 seconds long. Now it’s half that, this isn’t really a problem if the street is always congested, but there are times even in Toronto when the streets reach the speed limit, this 2 seconds is not enough of time to stop. On top of that, a lot of intersections downtown now have a leading pedestrian interval, maybe if pedestrians followed the rules they wouldn’t get themselves into trouble in most cases. A leading pedestrian interval is a head start of around 3 seconds for the ped signal before the main signal goes green.

Heck, maybe those not caring deserve to hand over their money to them.. either way it's good and bad I suppose. Every time I approach a yellow I make sure to see it yellow when I go under it.. the only way you violate is if you car is behind the line when it's red. By now, it should be crystal clear to anyone bothering to pay attention that government, from local to federal, has become OUT OF CONTROL nearly everywhere. Some places, like New York City whose politics are dominated by liberal interests, are worse than others, though to be fair, politicians of both parties at all levels participate in this wretched mess too. The ordinary average citizen who isn't wealthy or who doesn't have a cozy connection to a protected industry (see the National Review article about the dairy industry piling on regulations on small independent dairy farmers in Oregon) is nothing more than human livestock living in a tax farm, from birth to death, feeding the growth of corrupt or reckless governments that are bent on taking more and more from the average person. IT'S NEVER GOING TO BE ENOUGH. They want MORE, MORE, MORE, even after you're dead. The only way to put a stop to this is to vote these clowns out of office. @@markadler8968 yeah, it makes a lot of sense to make a person buy a new car every three years! 🙄 The result is still the same only the Rich will be able to drive .

@@MultiPetercool Have you been to Singapore? Just so you know it is one of the smallest countries in the world and there is no room for cars or anything at all really. If everyone had a car it would be a traffic jam 24hours a day.

NYC is doing it's best to push residents out of the city - and state as a whole for that matter. It took decades for this city to normalize in terms of livability and safety and all it took was a couple of idiotic mayor's and governors to undo all that work.

It's truly heartbreaking to see a vibrant city turn into a cesspool. When I go back to NYC, I barely recognize it anymore, it's just too sad for words.

Texas did traffic cameras for a couple of years and the state found out that people never paid them

No consequence?
@terrielvwl10 ай бұрын
@@ljpal18 No consequences because the county would not collect the money for the cities, so a lawyer group sent out the notices for the tickets. I received two, for right on red because the camera said I didn't stop before turning. Never paid and received letters threatening but eventually they stopped because Texas finally decided it was not worth paying the lawyer for collecting non-collectable fines.

And, those of us that paid them, didn't get money back when they were found to be illegal in the first place.

From the outside it looks like that. From the inside it's being basically forced to leave a place that generations of your family have lived in and that multiple relatives still live in.

For real. I left Chicago before I was even legally an adult. People act like their feet are glued down to the damm sidewalk or something.

I'm pretty reasonable and rational and I think NYC is a great place. It has so many things to offer that can't be found elsewhere. Our government definitely sucks, but they are temporary and I don't let them run my life. This city has been down this road before, but eventually we bring in adult leadership and get it turned around. Never bet against this city.

If looting stores is not prosecuted why should anyone pay a traffic ticket ?
@autoimmunitycurse10 ай бұрын
We went to NYC and son tripped and needed medical care. Cop and ambulance driver said they would talk to Battery park traffic patrol about it. ER kept us 6 hours and got parking ticket for going over time. That was first trip 20 years ago. We left NYC and went to Nashville to finish summer vacation. I paid it, that's was all I'll ever invest in NYC. I hope families do draw a line cuz that was mine.
