That “bamboo” at 9:45 is Japanese knotweed and it’s super invasive. Cutting it short and covering it with a black tarp for a year has been used to kill some of it. But yes it’s almost impossible to get rid of.

Stupid question maybe, but why don't ye share a chopper between a few farms? Would surely help to spread costs. In Ireland it's mostly contractors as farms generally aren't large enough to justify having their own machine, and labor is a problem too.

Very very few farmers have their own self propelled harvester, or actually anything more than a mower. Farms large enough to run a fleet of tractors and trailers plus mowers, harvester and loader are virtually non-existent in Ireland.

We've been trying to bale straw for 2 weeks. Won't stop raining. And yeah this week was the week and then oh actually it's gonna rain starting Monday night. Had 1.5" by 9 am Tuesday.
